Ralph walks over to me and he has a warm smile on his face "You have nothing to be afraid of. No one is going to hurt you,'' he tells me, and I feel his words in my core.
I know that they are just words but just coming from him makes me believe them. I trust Ralph, he is like a father to me. He has been there from the beginning, and I know that he is going to be here when I walk back into the compound. Colin went back to the house, he listened to me, and it has given me more courage just knowing that he is safe.
"Thank you, Ralph," I breathe out those words and he smiles at me again.
"I want you to lock the gates, the moment we walk out of them and don't open them until I tell you to.''
He nods.
He is going to use magic. As long as Ralph is alive, they cannot enter the compound. I need him just as safe as I need Colin.
"You have nothing to worry about."
