"You're late."
The door opens and I see one of Tala's fathers. I have heard about them, but I have not actually met them. The man is intimidating as hell. He looks to be over six feet or more, way taller than me. His build is all muscles, and his eyes are very penetrating.
He shifts from the door and Tala enters, with her grip on me. I walk in, suddenly getting nervous. I don't get the chance to even say anything when her other dad walks toward us.
"You're here," he hurriedly grabs my hand and pulls me towards the living area of the house.
Unlike the man who opened the door, this one does not carry an ounce of intimidation. There is just something about him that calms me. It makes me feel like I can get through this dinner.
I already know that this is his dad—Jabi. He drags me down the couch, "You are really beautiful. Tala didn't tell us how gorgeous you are," he squeals.
