I tried to maintain my face looked grim and cold, while he could be compared to an open book. "If I could just turn back the time, I would. If I just had listened to you and stopped, I would." My words halt at the moment as I felt the tears roll down my cheeks. "If I could just touch you, perhaps I would. Let the time heal, and when it returned to its rightful place, then maybe we could." I step back and turn away from him as my feet hoofing out of that place. My heartache so much as my whispers tell the tale. 'If I could just hug you for one last time.'

Chapter 1 - Prologue: Present Time

"Coronavirus: Alexander Bill 'microchip implant' conspiracy theory and other vaccine claims have been proven by our prominent scientist Daniel Gagarin (US Citizen) together with his trainee Virago Titania Mahusay (Filipino Citizen) by firm evidence that they've disclosed in public. Alexander Bill is the man behind the scientist's death to prevent their discovery of the coronavirus vaccine that causes thousands, millions of people's death. Indeed, the Coronavirus pandemic is just an appearance to cover the plan for trackable implant microchips. NATO and the world government are now increasing security and finally taking action to restore humanity. The world right now is asking Mr. Alexander Bill to take responsibility for all the victims and damages. This is a worldwide race of humanity. Breaking news." The news anchor announces in public.

I smirked in triumph when I heard the worldwide report announced to the public. As I was walking near the transparent window of the hotel room, the sun bussed lingers my skin while the light blinded me to see the view in front of me.

I was on the 28th floor in the tallest building in Cebu City, where I can see evidently from where I'm standing straight, the passerby striding on the street while wearing face masks and shields. This was not the world I had ever dreamed of, where freedom and humanity were slowly creeping away from us, humans. We are losing our families and friends amid the battle; this is not what I intended for an innocent child to witness. I will bring back the peace, fairness, and love that I have grown up with for a long time. And most significantly, the justice that I desperately hope for.

I look up to the blue sky that my hands have been longing to reach out back in the day that I have lost everything. Since the day the universe has stolen my simple and perfect life away from me.

"Mum and Dad, please, take care of my younger sisters up there. I will seek justice for all of you, and I promise that. I will drag them down to hell and force them to kneel in front of me. I will torture them to death until they beg for forgiveness!" As I screamed, my tears streamed down my cheeks as I kept repeating the word "beg."

The calming weather felt comforting at that moment, but not enough to cover up her resentment. If it means to raze hell to kill them all, she will show them how to run a game properly.

The tears on her cheeks halt as if they have their own will while the corner of her mouth twitched into a small smile as the telephone rang loudly to the other side.

Vira took her time to stand up as she wiped her wet cheeks and smoothly strolled near the telephone to pick up the call.

"Just like what I expected," she speaks to the other line. Her fragile body does not prevent her from speaking as if she was a strong woman firmly.

The other line sounds rushed, then an older man spoke to her out of nowhere in a stressful and angry tone.

"You fucking disgraceful woman! How dare you! I will hunt you down!" the older man shrieked so severely that he made her pull the telephone away from her ear but pull it back anyway when, the older man calmed himself.

"Chill, old man, you might get a heart attack," I said nonchalantly.

"Shut-up! I know you planned all of this all along together with that useless Gagarin! I should have ordered my people to kill you and that asshole! If it were not because of my mercy, you are a fucking dead meat right now! I will kill you! You better clean this mess, or I will—"

"What? You will kill my family?" I cut him off. "Have you forgotten that you already killed my family, old hag? You have never left me even a single one of them, not one you bullshit. So, you better hide and run because you're going to die sooner than you've expected it to be. Well, honestly, it's no doubt you will die since you're an older man already, but just a slight change of plan for Satan to fetch you." I stated coldly.

"You whore—"

"By the way, what is it like to be a chase to everyone? Playing hide and seek?" I cut him off teasingly.

"I will kill you, remember that! You will never get away from this. Never!" He threatened.

I whistled to keep myself entertained while leaning against the side table to relax my small leg.

"Mr. Bill, aren't you bored? Don't you have another script with you? Because to tell you that fact, you keep on repeating the word 'I will kill you, which doesn't tense me up a bit." I advise him casually.

"Oh really? What about I'll tell you how my people tortured your family before they got killed? And oh! Your beautiful sisters, as I have known, they were a virgin—"

I grasp the telephone tightly as my body tenses and making me gasp in horror. Before he could finish his statement, I threw the telephone on the floor with all my strength as my heart slammed against my rib cage. My blood boils so much that I can't control the anger consuming my emotions. I repeatedly kicked the telephone into parts until it wouldn't be recognizable to the owner.

"Die!" I cried out. My mind went crazy that the next thing I knew, a firm handheld my waist and forcedly dragged me on the sofa.

"Don't touch me! Could you stay away from me? Go die!" I keep on kicking and hurting the person who tries to stop me. I was blinded with anger to the point that I didn't care who am I hurting with.

"Vira, stop." A soft voice came out of nowhere that calms me right at that very moment. My sanity went back when I recognized the face staring right back at me with sadness.

"Doctor Gagarin..." My mouth shut as I saw him get wounded on his shoulder through my nails.

"What happened?" He asked worriedly.

My eyes roamed around the hotel room, and the place was messed up. My eyes stopped on the broken parts of the telephone on the floor, while there were broken vases spread around the area with a mark of blood on it.

"My sisters...why didn't you tell me?" I ask the man in front of me coldly.

His silence made my body tense up again and urged me to stare at him deadly. Doctor Gagarin's gaze turned to the other side to prevent confronting me.

"Are they?" I ask him again, not wanting to continue my words.

His silence made my shoulder drop, and I broke down.

"Why?" I cried out. I just imagined what they did to my younger sisters before they officially killed my whole family wanted me to throw up. My body was now shaking in anger and resentment.

"Why! Why them?!" I shouted. I wanted to get an answer, but no one could provide enough reason to justify my family's death. Even my best friend, Drake, I'm sorry.

Doctor Gagarin comforted me, but reality dawned and will hunt me every night. Seeking for a reason I am still alive.

"I will kill them all, and they will pay for this! Doctor, what am I going to do?" My shoulder is shaken from grieving as I ask Doctor Gagarin for support. He's like a father figure to me, and he was the only person I could lean on.

" Don't worry; I will help you. I will adopt and treat you as my daughter. But before that, you will come with me to Houston, Texas, to keep ourselves safe from the danger. Then after that, we'll seek revenge for everything they have stolen from us. Do you trust me, Vira?

I pant. I can feel the sincerity of Doctor Gagarin wanting to help me. But as of the moment, I needed to trust him and let him take me away from here.

I slowly nodded in agreement. It takes time to get there, but it would be all worth it in the end.
