Karmal felt strange vibrations around him. Even though he was barely getting his consciousness back, he could feel the room around him. The vibrations seemed like they are coming from outside the area he was in. The vibrations were of something falling on the top of the space he was in. The vibrations seemed to get slower and slower and dimmer with time. He tried to open his eyes to see what might it be.
'arey.. huh!?. Huuuh? '
he had these thoughts when he saw that he is in a tight box enough to fit in. His face was black when he understood what the vibrations earlier were, it was the vibrations of piles of sand falling on the coffin he was in.
He is shocked to know that he is still alive after that excruciating pain and the mad experiment was done on him by an idiot scientist who can't bear to see animals get hurt. He immediately started squealing and vigorously moving in the box. After a few minutes, he started to feel suffocated and his movements became slow. He realized it would be useless to move anymore because there was no one around and he started to conserve his breath and stabilize his breathing. He concentrated on his breathing. another 15 minutes passed and he started to feel nauseated and dizzy. Then he started to scratch the bottom of the coffin and bite the top to try and break it. He was unaware that because of not having control over his abilities yet, he already made the box half corroded because of his poisonous breath, and when he started biting and scratching the wood easily broke as he secreted acidic substances from his mouth and he had very sharp nail than he had earlier.
The sand started falling in from above and filling the box he concentrated on the top and started digging out. When he reached out Karmal felt like he had just come out of his mother's womb and breathed his lungs full and then looked in front of him as he sensed someone there. He felt like he was struck by thunder because of what he saw. It was a cat staring at him with greedy eyes and salivating mouth, it had a scar on the chin where he was missing a mustache on his left side. Karmal shared his eyes while sweating all over his body and gulping. He slowly started digging with his legs which were inside the ground and moved down inch by inch where the cat started to move closer step by step. The cat jumped at Karmal without giving time for him to go in.
Karmal had no opportunity to dodge the cat and was stunned. The cat immediately retreated after coming almost 2 inches from him. This time the cat had a frightened expression on its face and was shivering with fear. Karmal didn't understand what was happening. He didn't know what the cat's perspective was, the cat's instinct made him scared because of both his poisonous breath and because of his aura as a dominant beast. The cat was just a regular one and started doing kowtow as apologies and even though Karmal didn't understand what exactly was happening but he did understand that he had the upper hand now the initial expression had shifted and Karmal is seeing with a deadly expression and an evil grin on his face as the cat is sweating his wits out.
Karmal thinks that the cat is maybe hungry but is too kind to kill a cute and handsome mouse like him and apologizes. So, he came out of the sand and started moving toward the cat with a smile on his face to say he was harmless but, the cat saw it as he was coming to him to kill him and started crying. Karmal felt a bit sad and said
"Hey hey, please don't cry . It's alright, really. Besides it's only natural for you to attack me as you are hungry. I can understand you".
These words were filled with kindness and warmth of excuse but the cat interpreted them as
"Hey hey, don't cry I will put you to death without much pain beside it's natural that you attacked me as you are hungry similarly am also hungry so let me eat you".
The cat got even more scared and shivered even more. Karmal was flustered and said
" Hey come on stop it already I said it's okay. Can you even understand me? It's not like am trying to kill you or anything"
and said in a dim voice
"By the way am a rat and you are a cat I don't think you can understand me".
The cat replied in a shaking voice
" I.. I can u.. understand the great one and i..If the great one is not going to k..kill me why will he b..be releasing his p..poisonous aura around him?".
Hearing this Karmal made a face like this(😑).
"Who is the great one you are talking about?"
He said with a shy and investigative way to which the cat pointed its paw towards him. He didn't understand what he was talking about and was a bit confused and asked the cat to explain what he was talking about and also Said he could talk to him informally.
The cat started explaining to him that he was scared of Karmal because he is a dominant beast and he has poison powers in him which are almost never heard the way of use in the magic present in the air which is what all dominants usually do. He said that if he had used his aura to spread around him and appeared to him he would have never disrespected him and apologized to Karmal. Karmal was shocked to know that he has become a dominant beast even though he did think he had better condition in his body than later but never thought that it was because of the evolution to the dominant beast category. Karmal asked the cat his name. The cat replied that his name is 'MARJAL'. Karmal said,
"Marjal frankly speaking I didn't know that I had evolved into a Dominant beast, soo...can you tell me if you know how to, you know control my poison breath and all?".
Hearing this Marjal was shocked and thought
"Hmmm, wow! Seriously. having poison power is one thing, and not knowing that is of a different level. seems like he will become great in the future so if I follow him now I may get a good future "
and he had an image of him in the center of some female cats and having fun. When Karmal looked at him Marjal was grinning so he said
" Yo, buddy do you know that you are making one hideous face right now?."
Marjal immediately came to his senses and said,
"Brother rat, may I know your name?".
Karmal said his name and told him to call him whatever he wanted and Marjal decided to call him Brother KAR. Then Marjal said after a brief pause
"Brother please accept my condition if you want me to tell you what I know."
Karmal was very anxious to know the method to control his powers so he agreed to his condition and then Marjal stated his condition as
"Brother, I want to follow till the end of my life from now on. Please accept me as your sworn brother."
Karmal was a bit stunned by the condition but thought it would not cause him any loss and he felt happy so he agreed.
Marjal said "It will be taking some time to discuss and learn the method I know, it was passed down to me by my parents when I was little. They were at the peak of the dominant beast level when I last saw them. So, let's get somewhere else quiet and discuss it. Hop onto me I will take you to a place I know".
Karmal climbed onto him and just when they were about to leave they heard a human voice which had a shocked tone and amazing feeling in it saying " tahw!!?". Marjal was frightened because of the sudden shout and Karmal felt goosebumps on him because he recognized the voice of the person. He slowly turned his head around to see the side of the sound. There was a man standing there with his mouth open and the bag in his hands fell down. He was the scientist who experimented on Karmal. They both stared at each other as the setting sun shone with orange light the evening haze was visible in the far sky and the spring Breeze flew past them.
