"OMG!!! I can't believe it's Christmas!" Nikita screamed as she checked the calendar. For the past twenty four years of her life, she had always wished for one thing;TO SEE SANTA,maybe ,have a chat over tea. Dramatic and crazy right?. But she always ended up getting gifts she didn't want. Once when Nikita was seven,she got a whole box of yarn and a knitting kit.She cried the whole night but this never changed her mind.
"This Christmas I promise myself,I will surely see you,Hmph!"
"It's already 7:30!, No way!" Nikita exclaimed as she ran out of the house almost forgetting to lock the door. She was going to miss the bus again. Luckily, she entered when the door was about to close. What a way to start the day Nikki.
"Good morning, so sorry for being late" Nikita said hurriedly looking at her students with pitiful eyes. Yeah, of course with that expression, the students gave in and were not angry at her. She teaches History at Greatville High. The bell rang, class was over;"Remember your exam starts next week So be prepared and remember to be nice so that you won't be on Santa's naughty list!!". Some students giggled and a male student stood and asked Nikita if she still believe in Santa at her age . She responded that sure of course Santa is real and with that she left the class feeling partially embarrassed.
The school day was over and Nikita dashed out of the school compound as she was expecting a ride from her best friend,Alvin. Many people in the school mistook him for her boyfriend,fiancee or husband because she never told them who he is. 'Look at the time you're coming out Nikki' Alvin said pointing at his wrist watch with his eye popping out.
'Hey what's with that face this afternoon. Not even a proper greeting ,you know I tried very well to be early'She responded with a sigh.
'I'm sorry , My lady' Alvin replied with a British accent. Nikita then gave out a soft giggle. "You know you owe me a treat" She said.
"Sure, of course. I did remember let's go to..."
"La creams!" "Nuella's kitchen" They both said at the same time ; with that they laughed at the same time.
The ice cream shop was full of customers that afternoon as the weather was very sunny.
"So what do you want to do for this Christmas. Please do not tell me you are writing another one of those your letters to Him again" Alvin said while struggling with a large bowl of ice cream and an extremely tiny spoon. "I changed my mind, I'm going to ask for another special wish" She responded smiling gleefully at her ice cream. Nikita was in a very good mood and Alvin noticed that. Ice cream was one thing that cheers her both in her good days and bad too. That day was a mixture of both.
Suddenly, a particular Christmas song was played on the speaker in the shop and it was as if Nikita got an electric shock from it. Out of nowhere she jumped on the counter!!!
