The monster closing in on them was best described as a giant spider-like thing. Enormous? Massive? Colossal? None of those phrases could describe the terror of facing a spider twice Blanca's size. It glistened and shone like a puddle of magical grease in the rising twilight, as black as the abyss of hell. The wind was humming and rustling. When the creature moved, it sounded like a hundred blades sharpening at the same time.
"Jesus! That is way creepier than the Final Destination movie." Blanca grumbled under her breath.
"What the hell sort of movie is that?" He grunted, "But anyway, yes, and that is a highly poisonous spider," Dimitri told her.
Of course, it was. As though she'd ever doubted it. This place was hell on Earth.
The spider rushed out then, slashing out with its pointy-tipped legs. Each slash whistled through the air like a steel sword. They cut like a sword too.
