Grant Callahan...
The door opened, and Kenzie came out of the house, holding Joey in her arms. She was wearing jeans and a hoodie. Grant held the door open while she walked down the front porch to meet him in the driveway.
"Where are the twins?" She asked, look around for them. Grant shook his head no. They were still in the house. Kenzie sighed in exasperation and threw Joey into Grant's arms while she went back into the house with purpose in her steps. He heard her mumbling about the twins as she went away.
Grant held the kid at arm's length and regarded him squinted eyes. The last time he held a baby was when the twins were born and that had been such a long time ago. The boy in his arms laughed at the awkward way Grant was holding him. He thought they were playing some sort of game. His laugh made Grant to smile subconsciously, and he didn't even know he was smiling.
