Jacob spent the rest of the day in his theatre room. He had a lot of time to think about Nicole's claims, and he reached a conclusion. He dashed out of the room in search of Nicole. She had conveniently made herself scarce after her outbursts earlier. Jacob searched the entire house and eventually found her in the nursery, reading rhymes to a sleeping Dilan. He walked in gently and put his hand on her shoulder. Nicole jumped at the contact. She hadn't noticed his entrance. Jacob gave her a small smile, but Nicole didn't return it. She put the book aside and kissed Dilan's forehead. Jacob mirrored her move and together they walked out of the room.
Nicole went into the bedroom, and Jacob followed suit. Words toppled over each other in his head. He had a lot to say, but he just didn't know where to start, so he picked the easy way out.
