Jacob Mackay
The doorman greeted him with a bow and opened the door for him to go in. Jacob stepped through the door and, just immediately, Brin crashed into him. It took all his strength to keep both of them from hitting the floor.
"What are you doing here?" He asked her, still holding onto her shoulders.
He had just come back from his meeting with Anika Justice, he didn't expect to see Brinley.
Her eyes were puffy and swollen, like she had been crying. Brin opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out. Hiccups hindered her speech. Jacob guided her to a bench in a corner of the reception and guided her to sit on it, and then he sat beside her.
"What's the matter?" He asked again. There was a nagging feeling at the back of his mind, but he tamped it down, not wanting to jump to conclusions.
"They won't let me up because I'm not listed as a guest."
Jacob scratched his head and smiled sheepishly.
