Jacob felt like his stomach was about to explode with all the food he just ate. Even Sutton relaxed in her seat, grinning like a Cheshire cat. She looked like she was satisfied, too. It was therapeutic for Jacob to see that Sutton hadn't lost her appetite. She always had a knack for eating and it was good to see she still had it. Jacob couldn't keep the smile off his face as he watched her eat the remnants of the food on her plate. What was supposed to be a reunion for them all had turned into a date. His insides churned with happiness, but he reflected none of it.
"Do I have something on my face?" Sutton asked. She had caught Jacob staring at her when she looked up from her plate. Jacob smiled and shook his head no. Sutton narrowed her eyes and drained her glass of water.
