A few months passed after my tenth birthday which was a blast as I got my first ever broom ride and it was thrilling I wanna do it again but it was a one-time opportunity. I think that it will take me a month of practice on the broom to be a good broom rider but I was still happy that at least I was able to enjoy the ride and not fall off the broom on my first try.
A fine Sunday morning as I was at my grandparent's house still sleeping. I woke up and yawned a little as my eyes tried to adjust to the low light after rubbing my eyes a little I walked toward the bathroom and after being done with my business I walked out of there with a towel wrapped around my waist.
At the table, I sat with both my grandparents as we ate our breakfast. After eating I went toward the study with grandma and grandpa went to the greenhouse to check on the plants.
In the study, we sat opposite each other as grandma said, " well, it's been a while since we checked your occlumency prowess so let's start our lessons with that, and if it needs some more what you call that umm....upgrades I will point out for you." and I nodded as I have been practicing my occlumency for a few years nonstop 24x7 and it had made me sort of genius in the eyes of my teachers as well as my parents and grandparents.
Well, my grandparents know why it's like this but they also acknowledge that it's not that common for children my age to take their magic study seriously and do it diligently as I do. As they are still in the process of getting their body accustomed to their magic.
Well, there were some cases of parents teaching their kids magic from an early age but there are some cases of parents overestimating their kids and teaching them magic which causes their magic to haywire in their bodies and the kids to be blown to pieces.
Well, that's all I read from some magic story book as grandma said it was to scare naughty children. But who in their right mind would tell such types of stories to scare their kids? The Wizarding World is seriously weird sometimes.
After testing my occlumency shields with grandma. We both took some rest as it was tiring to continuously use our brain power as grandma once told me, " Alex we should use legilimency moderately or one could go cock-a-doodle-do if he/she/they use it 24x7 as it's hard to handle all the memories even if you are master at it.
As for occlumency, one can use it for the perks it grants in memory prowess but only if the said person is on the lower intermediate level of occlumency. And as you progress in it and go on the higher level your occlumency will improve."
While taking rest I was reading a wizarding history book about the battle of the occlumen and legilimens as they fought for more than 500 years for gaining supremacy over the other but after Merlin who was the natural born occlumen and legilimen came into power. He with his magical prowess became the strongest of his time and resolved the bloodshed of 500 years. ( well I sort of threw it on Merlin to solve as in the lore it said that he was one of strongest of the wizards/warlocks of his time. Merlin for the win guys.)
After some rest, I was back with grandma in the study. Learning Arithmancy at the start was quite tiring to say politely. But after two years of studying it, I can say that I can be equivalent to an average third year in terms of arithmancy. Well from my previous experience I know that nobody likes to calculate and solve extra hard problems as it's simply boring. But with the help of the occlumency which I practiced diligently for years, I can do it easily and sometimes with help.
Ancient rune is a fascinating subject but it also has their demerits most of the time I was not able to point out the correct runes as many looked the same but had a slight alteration in them which made the runes different and used for different purposes. But even then I for one think that if we can properly harness these runes' full powers we will have more advancement in the future.
Care for magical creatures was the only subject in which I had not dabbled right now as I did not own any creature and it is also forbidden to own such magical creatures by the International Magical secrecy law.
Meh, I will have to look forward to the third-year class at the CMC.
As the sun was going down and my lessons were also over I was in the small garden that grandpa created for planting normal flowers and plants. My grandpa and I were tending to the plants and grandma was sitting on the chair sipping tea.
I heard the same honk of the car and my father parked the car at the front of the entrance. I waved at my father with a smile and then grandpa went to talk to him as I went inside to grab my stuff and go back home.
(Time skip)
I was at the airport with my family as we came to see off grandma and grandpa who were going abroad because of work purposes.
"Alex take care of yourself and your father and mother as well." Said grandma and I nodded as I felt some dust fly in my eyes and I rubbed them.
Take care of yourselves as well." said Richard to James and Sophia. And they nodded and James said," you guys should also take proper care of yourselves and call us when you get settled there. "
"We will." said grandma and grandpa." Richard here is yours and Mary's tickets." Said uncle Tim." I think we should get going now Mary. " after final hugs and handshakes they went inside to check in.
"Don't sadden your self lad they will come back as soon as they complete their work." said uncle Tim encouragingly to Alex. Alex also wiped his tears and nodded as he waved them goodbye.
Coming back from the airport Alex looked outside the window for the entire ride. And after getting back he went to his room and stayed there till it was time for dinner after it he said goodnight to his parents and then went back to his room and slept.
