His words ring off the walls of the underground cave. He sees a single tear run down Lily's cheek before she closes her eyes to try to stop any more from slipping past. He immediately sits down again next to her.
"I am so sorry. I wish I had better news for you but I've run tests on all the probabilities. They almost all end the same."
"Run them again! What about the ones that didn't end the same? How can you know that that we won't make it back?" Noah struggling to accept it and struggling to not let Lily's emotions get the better of him shouts at the so-called scientist. How could he possibly know anything? How could he take away the only hope Lily had? How could he take that away from them?
