Jack gets to math early hoping to catch Iona before the lesson, but she walks right past him like she doesn't even see him.
"Hey, Iona." Jack tries calling out to her but she just keeps walking to her desk. He doesn't know what he was expecting but it wasn't this. 'I don't know maybe I hoped she talk to me, ask me why I came over, I'd even take her yelling at me for just leaving. Anything but having her ignore me.'
Iona tries not to look at him as she takes her books out of her bag, but she can't help it. She lifts her eyes away from the jumbled mess she threw into her bag this morning and tries to decipher his body language. Trying to find some proof that he didn't just leave her again without telling her why, or at least some proof that he was sorry he left her. Calling out her name like nothing had happened wasn't what she wanted.
