Eric had been busy since signing the contract the previous day. Moreover, given that he had been out of the company for so long, there were a lot of things to take care of.

The phone was not reachable, and this outcome made him more worried. So he decided to call her secretary to find out about Emily.
"Miss White has not been to the office today. She called in earlier to cancel all her morning appointments," the secretary said.
"Do you know where she is?" Eric still felt uncomfortable.
