"Let's ask Mum about it," Jerry suggested after a long silence between them.
"Mum?" Emily raised her brows. She felt that Jerry had forgotten once again that their parents were dead. Or could it be that their Mum survived too? she thought.
"I mean Jude," Jerry corrected himself. He had no idea where his mother was; neither was he eager to get scolded by her. only Jude would be able to give them any information.
Emily, who had been hoping that perhaps her mother had survived, just like she and her brother, suddenly felt her heart drop.
"Jude... I'll give him a call," Emily said, pulling out her phone and dialing his number.
Jude picked up on the first ring. He was sitting opposite a woman. At first, when he saw the call, he hadn't wanted to answer.
"Pick it up. Not everything can be hidden forever," the woman said. The previous day, when Jerry had managed to escape, she had already known that the two siblings would eventually meet.
