The two groups had their lunch and Eric did not notice Emily. After lunch, they each went for different activities. Eric was trying his best to get to know Annabel; although he called her out for her mother's sake, he still wanted to see if a marriage alliance was possible between them.
"let's go to the shooting range; I heard some gossip that you are good at it," Annabel suggested. She was on her best behaviour.
"you heard?" Eric was amused.
Annabel felt embarrassed; she did not want to admit that she had been paying much attention to him. So she smiled awkwardly. Seeing her like that, Eric felt she would make a cute little sister. As the only child, Eric had wanted siblings that way; his parents would not always watch him like a hawk.
