The next day, Emily woke up early and went to the mall where they would be launching Steam for the first time in Kay. Emily never wanted to handle any public event. She tried to stay hidden and unnoticed.
The more Gabriel appeared before people, the more the success of Steam would be related to him. This way, Gabriel would be the target of the enemy.
She did not feel guilty using him as her shroud; at best, the people targeting him would want to pull him from Steam to their company. ABM would try to use him as a spy so no danger would come to him.
But Emily had to come to the launch to give Samuel a face. Moreover, people would feel that Steam launch was all because of Samuel. Although Samuel helped with the paperwork, if Steam did not have a good proposal for the retail sellers, she would not have been able to sign a trail contract with the five biggest distributors in Kay.
Emily got to the venue with Amy by Nine am; Raymond had been present since seven am. When Emily arrived, she was impressed that he had made all the arrangements. The space was ready. The five distributors sent representatives to attend the launch. A few guests from related filed were also in attendance. Samuel also helps invite members of the media. The launch was not a big event but had all the necessary support.
Although Samuel did not attend, he still sent a gift. The launch started at ten am. Emily did not want to be in the spotlight, so she allowed Raymond to read the speech.
Across the capital, the store owned by the five distributors also showcases Steam products. Because of how much profit they could get from Steam, the sales representative were all happy to recommend the products to customers.
Since it just launched in Kay, Steam offered twenty per cent off for all their product. Many people loved to buy their gadgets from the stores, and seeing that the sales representative recommended the product with so much confidence, a few customers purchased it.
Everyone would love to save money when they could; the stores were known to sell only quality gadgets, so even if Steam was getting into the market of Kay, people trusted the product. Moreover, Steam product was limited, so a few people were happy to buy them.
Many people bought things to show off; Steam had entered Kay with the same strategy. It was directly compared with ABM. Citizens of country Kay are very patriotic, so no one dares to compare it with Sky products.
After the launch, Emily had lunch with Samuel as a thank you. Raymond was yet to know a few people, so Amy remained in Kay to help manage the store until the staff list was settled.
"Congratulations, it has only been a few hours, and your product has become so famous," Samuel said as they sat down to have dinner.
" It's all thanks for your help," Emily said. Indeed things would have been more difficult for a small company like Steam without Samuel's help.
"It's nothing; when Steam becomes stronger, we can join hands and cause trouble for ABM," Samuel said. Emily nodded her head. Samuel was right; Sky group and ABM are both strong. It was hard to tell which company would defeat the other.
"That will be great," Emily would be more than happy to join forces with others to put ABM in a difficult position.
Samuel was amused; he did not expect her to be so eager to cause trouble for others. "Are you not scared that ABM would cause trouble for you once you return?" He asked.
"What difference does it make? They cause trouble for me no matter what?" Emily said and took a sip of her drink. Samuel was pleased about how clear-headed she was acting. ABM had gone as far as threatening his family to suppress Steam, so even if Emily lay low, ABM would still come for her unless she wanted to become like Rostar, who has to remain a small company even after years of existence. It was not even well known in Ua, talked more about outside the country.
"You are right," Samuel said. After eating together, Samuel sent Emily to the airport. He was happy to spend more time with her.
"Have you decided to court Emily White?" his assistant asked. Jeff and Samuel met at the university so they could be considered friends.
"What are you talking about?" Samuel knew his feelings but also knew he could not just make decisions about his marriage. His family was reserved; he could not just date a lady unless he intended to marry her.
Even if he did not hate the idea of marrying a woman like Emily, he was not sure of what she was thinking. No man wanted to be rejected, so he took his time to get to know her better and used the opportunity to make her fall for him.
"Ahh! You are so busy, but you have the time to send her to the airport; you did not do this to annoy ABM, right?" Jeff raised his brows. Samuel had used this as an excuse to help Stream.
"You watch way too many movies as a man. Miss White and I could be considered to be friends. What is wrong with sending a friend to the airport?" Samuel argued.
"Really? then why have you never sent me to the airport? I am your friend after all," Jeff looked serious when he asked this question. He knew Samuel was looking for an excuse, he felt happy to tease him.
"Well, you are used to Kay; Miss White is a visitor," Samuel found another excuse. Jeff felt speechless. It was clear that he would be unable to win against his friends.
"You win," Jeff raised his hands. "I heard Gloria would visit Kay for the church conference in two days. Should I add it to your secluded to pick her up?" Jeff asked in a calm tone.
"I am busy; I have so many files to review. Anyway, this is not the first time she is coming to Kay," Samuel bites his tongue. He knew that Gloria liked him, so he tried not to do anything to encourage her.
Jeff chuckled when he heard this, "who would have thought that Samuel Sky has a double standard when he deals with his friends." Samuel felt exposed, but his face remained serious.
"I don't have a double standard; I don't just want Gloria to misunderstand," Samuel explained.
"Oh! Does this mean you don't mind Miss White's misunderstanding?" Jeff inquired. Samuel realised he could not hide his intention from his friend, so he decided to act dumb.
Jeff chuckled again but said nothing.
