Eric frowned his brows as he looked at the news on his tab. He did not expect Mr Sky would announce his secret rather than take back the company's statement. He wondered if Mr Sky did this for Emily or if he was unwilling to allow ABM to ride on him.
He watched the short video of Grace standing on the altar and narrating what happened years ago. Eric was surprised to know that the person who buried the incident years ago was Grace. Since the husband and wife stood to confess together, Mr Sky blocked his way to counter-attack. 'Smart move,' Eric could not deny this fact. If a man was to be successful in business, any shady secret must be kept buried.
After discovering Mr Sky's weakness, Eric was determined to fully use it. He was almost sure that Sky group would give in to ABM's blackmail every time. After all, a secret like molesting an underage would not only ruin Mr Sky's reputation; he might even go to jail. If a person without power or support had found such a secret, the Sky family might have looked for a way to silence the individual, but ABM was not inferior to the Sky group and touching Eric would have been difficult. Finding ABM's secret was another measure, but Eric and his father were meticulous. It would take a few months, if not years, to see any of their secrets. Moreover, getting evidence agaist them was almost impossible.
Olivia sat across the table and watched his reaction; she was scared that Eric would blame her. She did not expect Mr Sky to fight back like this. Years ago, Grace had gotten the police involved, and her husband was acquitted because he was also a scheme victim. When she carried out the investigation, she had missed such a piece of vital information. So it would be understandable if Eric blamed her for her carelessness. But she did not want that to happen. After all, she had just gained his favour and could not afford to lose it so soon.
No matter how much she investigated, she had not seen this coming. "I am sure Sky group will not take back their words; the partnership is off, Steam would have a major setback no matter what," Eric did not blame Olivia. After all, Mr Sky had called to talk things through, but he did not listen. Even Olivia had thought it was best to give Sky group a way out, but he was greedy for benefit. So Eric could not blame her, seeing how the Sky group reacted to his action.
Although he knew that his action broke the tactic understanding between ABM and Sky, he comforted himself that he was able to stop the partnership.
"That is true" Olivia was relieved that he did not blame her for the failed plan. She had a sweet smile as she got up and left the office. Olivia knew that Eric did not mix pleasure with business, even if they were in a relationship.
Eric continued to look at other news; the sensational information about the managers of Steam had also calmed down following the release of a statement from the public relations office of Steam. However, Emily had refused to grant an interview to any of the reporters who wanted to interview her.
"Jim, come over," after reading the news, Eric decided to call Jim. He knew that not everything in the report could be trusted. Jim was a manager in the company on the surface, but his real job was to collect all the news and gossip circulating in the business circle. This way, ABM can stay informed. Moreover, not every incident was reported by the media. As a businessman, Eric knew the importance of having the correct information.
A Few minutes later, Jim knocked on the door. "Come in," Eric answered, knowing the person asking his permission.
"Boss," Jim had a small smile as he took his seat.
"I want you to investigate sky group, the news about his so-called confession. I want to know if everything is as he said. If there is any manipulation, I want you to find it," Eric said. He did not believe anything that Grace said. If they indeed involve the law like Grace said, then why was Mr Sky so willing to cooperate at the beginning. So Eric was convinced that there must have been manipulation in the database of the police. Given the power and wealth of the Sky family, this should be possible.
"I will get to it," Jim replied. He was not surprised that his Boss was interested in this piece of news; after all, Sky group could be considered ABM's competitor.
"Also, keep an eye on Steam; I heard the CEO has refused to grant an interview to the press," Erice raised his brows. He did not realize it, but he was looking forward to her facing the reporters again; this way, he would see her face. He did not even notice that he was only giving this instruction because he was curious about what Emily was up to.
"Yes, before the official statement from the company, she had refused with the excuse that she was gathering evidence; after the news was released, she is now busy with project Nabot. Sky group has also just cancelled on them; she would have to work out another partnership," Jim replied. He knew his Boss was interested in Steam, so he had closely watched the CEO.
"Oh, let me know as soon as she contacts a potential partner," Eric instructed.
"Okay, Boss, oh, there is a cocktail dinner tonight; I heard a lot of investors would be present. There is also a huge chance that the person attending tonight from Steam would be the CEO," Jin informed.
"Who are the organizers of the dinner?" Eric asked. His eyes shined with interest.
"The FF group, I heard they are looking for a new project to invest into," Jin said.
"I want an invite," Eric decided to attend the party. Although he had enough connection to meet the FF group if he wanted to partner with them, he suddenly felt like attending after discovering that Emily might be present.
"Boss..." Jim was surprised. He wanted to ask why his Boss was willing to attend such a dinner. After all, apart from the FF group, there were no other big investors present. Even if they were sent invitations, they would not attend. But thinking of his Boss's personality, he swallowed back the words.
"We received Two invites; one should be with Greg," Jim replied instead.

Greg watched in amazement as his Boss went shopping to attend a dinner party. What shocked him the most was that he tried several outfits before choosing one. His Boss was a sort after bachelor, and he looked handsome in whatever he wore. So Greg could not understand why he was putting so much effort.
