Later that day, Emily received a call from Samuel. Alex had sent her phone and the necklace to the house after he found out that she had returned safely. It was only a few minutes after she put on the phone that Samuel called. She was a bit surprised when she saw the caller ID.
"What happened?" Samuel's anxious voice came from the other end of the phone. He had been trying her number since the previous night, but no one picked up. He also did not receive a return call or message from her. He was pretty worried, so he tried her number during the early hours of the morning, but the phone was turned off. He had been trying to get through to her all day, so the moment the phone came on, his call went through.
"I was almost adopted," Emily did not hide it from him, especially when she noticed how worried he was when he asked. She could not bring herself to lie, knowing that the person was concerned for her. so she told him.
