Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: A Strand Of Hair

Dylan offered me a ride. Well we went to his car. He politely opened the door for me so, I awkwardly went inside

He then walk towards the other side where the driver seat is. He start driving. The sky looks peaceful today

The atmosphere was also breathable. The time I spent with Dylan I feel more accustomed with his presence

I stared who was focused on the road. I'm lying if I say he was not attractive. With his dignified jawline that compliments his facial structure. His face can be a cover of a magazine

Apparently it was already done. He has been in multiple magazine covers. No one would really resist looking at his good looking face

"I'm quite flattered with your compliment. I'm incredibly glad that you had a great sleep for me to hear such a compliment from your lips" he stated with a sly grin on plastered his face

I immediately covered my mouth

"I was stating the opposite of what I said" I tried to excuse my embarrassment with a much absurd reason. I wanted to slap my face right this instant

"Well that sounds quite immature if you ask me?" he said then suddenly caught a disturbing aura surrounding her

'She's extremely silent? Is she overthinking again?' he thought then turned his head towards the flustered woman beside him who is trying to calm herself down.

Just by looking at her expression she seems to be rethinking her life choices. The tension was literally trying to choke him to death

"Lex?" I asked and placed my hand on her thigh. He smiled that she didn't throw his hand

"hmmmm?" she hummed in response

"Don't worry, you yourself is an epitome of beauty"

With that just one compliment made my whole face burned. I felt like my brain short circuited. I cleared my throat

"You have quite an eloquent way of speaking especially when flattering someone. Is it a talent or a habit?" I asked trying to mask my own flustered state by trying to sound as confident as I can

"I considered it more as a habit than a talent. I'm natural with it" he stated

It was always difficult reading him. He seems to be hiding more inside. I'm trying my best not to unleash it.

We arrived at the underground parking lot. Which was incredibly spacious. There were a lot of cars that were belong to the other employees since the company gives car insurance as a benefit for working here

The door beside me gently opened and was greeted a pair of chocolate brown orbs. I was surprised but kept my composure.

He lend out his hand. I was hesitant at first soon as our fingertips brushed he delicately helped me get down the car

"Thank you, I should be going now" I spoke with a small smile spreading my lips. A smile that a few could barely notice

With that smile Dylan responded with a much larger and cheerful smile. He then patted her head.

"I would gladly be the one to drive you to work besides both of us would be working here. It would be troublesome for you to have a chauffeur" he said

"It's not troublesome at all for me" I stated

"But it would be troublesome for me. I don't want a random guy driving you to work besides you already have a handsome husband to drive you to work" he proudly pointed at himself

"I'm going now" I stated then I felt a small tug on a strand of my hair.

I saw Dylan holding the tip of my hair. He gently placed a kiss on my hair.

"I hope have a great day" My face immediately turned red as I took a few steps back away from him. I quietly brushed my hair

"You too have a great day at work" I stated then swiftly left the scene. Avoiding his reaction

A man who was too short for his age came running down full speed to his new office

"Guys!! You should guess what I saw!!" he yelled to his coworkers

"A lucky one dollar on the floor?" a young man guessed

"No, that was last time" he replied waving his hand

"A cute girl?" one of them asked

"No one is cuter than Ms. Jia!" he screamed at his coworker pointing at Jia who was busy arranging files. Minding her own business

"Someone shorter than you?" another one answered in a tired voice. He was so done with his behavior

"What?! Take that back!! Dave!!"

"Just get to the point you idiot, that suspense it's annoying! Lev" Dave yelled back to the small gremlin

"So does that mean your interested?" he questioned with a sly grin on his face

"No, I'm annoyed!"

"Just spill it out already!"

"I was at the parking lot"

"And?"

"I saw the boss blushing, I didn't see it fully but she was brushing her hair. The tint in her cheek is so obvious" he whispered under his breath

"Ugh, you and your weird conspiracy theories. You know no one is going to believe that dumb lie of yours. Come on were talking about the Iron lady" Dave pointed out

His coworkers only sighed and rolled there eyes at Lev lies but, little did they know he was telling the truth.

"What is all this racket about?" a cold shivering voice greeted them all of there heads turned to the lady in the door

All of them straightened there backs and showed their respect.

"We were only messing around" a young man said

Everyone glared at him for his naiveness. The employees prepared for the worst possible outcome but, was surprised at the result

"Oh? Is that so continue on. Just don't break anything. We will have a meeting" I checked my watch

"In the next 1 hour so please prepare yourself and take your time" I continued and took a few strides to my office

The others was left in silence thinking to themselves. Realization then suddenly hit them as they started to fiddle with there work

Andrew who was still new to this office since he was newly hired stared at his co-worker in confusion

"Whats going on? Didn't she said take your time?"

"Andrew there is a hidden rule here if the boss talks to you with no emotion at all despite doing something displeasing in her perspective" Dave tried explaining to the newbie

"It's calm after the storm" a middle aged lady named Linda continued

Andrew placed his finger on his chin as if he was thinking. He remembered the expression of the boss when she entered

'But she doesn't look mad she seems to be in a much brighter mood'
