When Alex woke up in the morning, he's mother told him about the dead body that was discovered in the woods. He instantly thought about Astrid and ran to her house to check up on her.
"Hi, Mrs. Humphrey, please can I see Astrid?"
"Oh dear, she already went to meet up with you in the woods. She said you guys have a fortress to build." Mrs. Humphrey replied her daughter's best friend.
"Yes, I will go meet up with her." Alex didn't want to alarm the woman so he decided to go get her himself. He knew his mother would preventing him from venturing into the woods, so he decided to go straight to the woods without getting back home.
Alex could feel a metallic urgency so he had to push himself to his limit as he ran through the woods. The young boy didn't notice how fast he was running until he got to the location they promised to build the fortress. He saw the things Astrid came with but she was nowhere to be found.
