Chapter 2 - 2. Lord of the Frozen Perished

[Before you continue, please select a Lord name.]

Rise looked at it and then at his surroundings. He silently said. "Lord of the Frozen Perished."

[Welcome Lord of the Frozen Perished to World Chat.]

[Wah! Is this real?]

[Sure as hell it is, I just got a monster to slap me across the face. I survived, though.]

[Woah, did it hurt?]

[Very.]

Rise looked at the chat and got rid of it. Right now, he'd rather not read more. He'd most likely get a little too obsessed in the chat room. Rise sighed, he left the hut, Blue watched him leave. While he was technically a subject of the Lord, he wasn't as loyal to the boy as he was to the Blood Moon Goddess Jelena. As the young Lord walked out into the blizzard, he saw a small stuffed polar bear, his eyes widened in delight.

"Snowy!" Rise came over and grabbed the stuffed polar bear named Snowy. Snowy was an old bear. He was with Rise for a majority of his life. It was the only comfort item he had in this world and his last.

Rise no longer looked like a broken criminal, yet an energetic and hopeful youth when he held the bear. Yet, a roar in the distance put Rise back to his old self. A large wolf with big fur appeared in the distance. It was known as the ice wolf, a common beast in snowy tundra and cold environments such as the one Rise was in. A cold look was in Rise's eye. What a bad time. He was having a reunion with his only friend. Blue came out as the only combatant and saw the ice wolf. The werewolves and wolves were the mortal enemies of vampires, so he didn't take quite well to them.

"My Lord, let me -" Rise gave Blue the bear and took his spear.

The wolf charged at them as Rise raised the spear. He was going to take it on himself. The wolf jumped high into the air as Rise dodged and pierced its head from the side. It happened in only several seconds. Blue was incredibly impressed.

[Blue's loyalty increased from 51-60.]

Rise went back to the dumb struck vampire and gave back his spear. Rise took back Snowy as well. Blue was still in place as he looked at the dead ice wolf. The murderer of the wolf went over and looked at it.

[Extract loot?]

Rise nodded his head. Two bags of wolf meat, which was around twenty kilograms of wolf meat. A small book also appeared along with some fur. Rise looked back at Blue. "Grab the fur and meat."

Blue snapped out of his state and went over, grabbing the meat and fur. Rise took the book. The two went back, and as the two arrived back, the other four frost vampires were stunned to see the resources Blue carried. Blue carried the meat and fur to a corner of the hut, and the frost vampires asked him about it. The spear vampire told them what happened, and four notifications appeared. All four vampires used to have 51 loyalty, but now they had 56 loyal. Rise didn't care about that. Instead, he looked at the book he got.

"The fanged spear..." The book was called 'the fanged spear.' This skill book allowed one to summon a spear, about a meter long, and the tip was made from an ice wolf's fang. A powerful item one could summon, albeit it's stay for only twenty minutes and had a cooldown of half an hour. But for Rise, who liked spears, as well as being the first weapon to claim blood in his hand, it was nice.

Rise felt like his path for his great ambitions of being the strongest in the universe would start here. With a simple skimp through the book's contents, Rise learned the fanged spear spell. Now, currently, he needed to... make the local ice wolf population go extinct. But, he had no soldiers, and he wasn't exactly the strongest of soldiers. Right now, he needed to get new soldiers for his territory. What better place than the portal? But it was daily, so he'd need to wait for tomorrow.

Rise sighed. He might as well hunt some solo wolves. It would be for the better. Rise also needed to find new subjects. What a headache. He wasn't fit for such things. He'd rather war than economic crap. Pinching his forehead, he looked outside. From the time clock in his status, morning just ended with it currently being 11:23 am. More and more wolves should've woken up. If he wanted to hunt solo, then now was the time. Rise grabbed Snowy and left him on the bed. He also told the frost vampires not to touch his stuff. With that, he left with Blue.

As they traveled in the blizzard, Rise felt very cold. Something that he wasn't inexperienced in anyway. A cold memory flashed. An even younger Rising was crying for something he couldn't remember. It was one of the harshest blizzards in Canada ever since the bombs dropped. He should've died that night, but he forced himself to survive. It was the saying, "too angry to die.' Very fitting. The boy shook his head and kept that memory away. Now wasn't the time to reminisce, but the time to act.

As the duo approached a lone wolf, a spear with a fang appeared. Blue was surprised. The Lord had a skill. Rise trekked through the snow silently. It wasn't his first rodeo. The wolf never saw or heard them coming as a spear pierced its head with extreme force and accuracy. Blue was still a dozen meters away when the wolf died. Rise touched the wolf and grabbed the loot. Again, the same amount of meat and fur as well as the skill book dropped. But something else came with it. It was a book without a title, but a large ice wolf skull was on the front.
