"Do you feel better now?"
"Hmm, yeah thanks." Aurora responded.
I had her brought into the medical station for treatment. After the doctor had checked her for any injuries, he informed me that she was feeling better.
"What's your name? Aurora Seer? Seer Aurora? Which one is your first name? Growing up in a half-asian household, I started to question which name was a person's first name."
"Seer is my first name while Aurora is my family name." She responded.
Seer was sitting on her sick-bed and was wearing normal clothes that were given to her.
"I know you expect this, but I must ask. What happened to you?" I asked her about the capsule and her spacesuit.
"I was on the Superio-Space-Station. Then, I got an offer from the Central Superio News. They wanted me to film Salan and talk about some facts and what not. And on that day, on the space station, I watched helplessly as Salan crashed into earth."
'I remember. Mother wanted all of us to watch the news while we ate dinner.'
It was confusing at first. Thinking about how she had to have survived several months up in space until she coincidentally landed here. 'My luck, huh?'
Seer Aurora didn't look like she was distressed or traumatized. I wondered why.
"What did you do after the impact?" I asked for more information.
"I cried while I watched thousands of catastrophes happen below me. You know, just being scared is what I did at first. But after a few hours, I realized I had to do something. I noticed quite fast that technology didn't work anymore, so making contact to people below on earth was no option. I knew that Salan must've crushed somewhere around where the Ancient Storm was. I simply waited for the space station to orbit around the earth in order to get a clear view. When the space station had orbited to the other side, the usual black clouds and lighting bolts weren't there. Only the oval shaped asteroid that is right next to an island."
I got goosebumps all over my body. Thousands of years of human history, and still, the Ancient Storm remained a mystery. But now, Seer Aurora declared that she saw an island next to Salan. At that point, I realized how likely it could become to be engraved in humanity's most important point in time. I could just see how humans would talk about me for centuries if I somehow managed to get more information.
"Then? What did you do after that?"
"I waited for the space station to complete a full orbit around the earth, so I could launch myself towards Superio in an emergency capsule. Oh, I also developed strange powers. You have them too, right? I saw a few people use them. Like the doctor before."
"What strange powers do you have, Seer?"
"I can see what I want to see. I saw a perfect place to land, so I did, person whose name I still don't know."
"Always introduce yourself." I remembered my father's words.
'Why the fuck would I remember him at a time like this?! Damn!'
"It's Haru."
"So which one is your first name?" Seer attempted a joke.
I simply remained silent, her sense of humor was horrible. Also, I might've hurt her feelings a little, she turned tomato-red after I didn't react.
When Seer calmed down, she spoke again.
"Why only one name?"
"Because family names are useless now. My whole family is dead with all of its traditions." I simply answered.
Seer changed the subject and wanted to know more about what happened to us, the people who were on Superio at the time of the impact.
I explained how 99% of the human population died while animals and plants weren't affected at all, the name for the source of power, Mana, and how people liker Seer and I are called Bearers.
"Wow! How can there be so many abilities?!" She was astonished.
"Seer, what will you do now?" I turned the subject a bit dark again.
"I don't know. I still need to find my place in this new society. I worked hard my whole life, trying to become an astronaut. And now that technology doesn't exist anymore, I don't have anything that I'm good at."
Seer became hopeless. After listening to me, she understood she was practically useless. After the impact, there were still people that could practice their profession. The ones that weren't proficient in any profession became soldiers in order to survive.
"There is one option, Seer. Train and become a strong Bearer. That way, you can become someone important again. If you choose to do that, I will fill you in on the things that I kept hidden from you."
Seer wasn't sure what to do. She would've never guessed that she would become a soldier one day. That also meant, she had to fight, risking her life for the greater good of the European Union.
"Do you think I can be useful?" She asked, looking for a new hope.
"You are talented, are you not? You are younger than me, yet you still became an astronaut. I can tell you this, if your ambition is as great as it was when you wanted to become an astronaut, then you will also achieve the same significance you had at the point where you were in space."
My words gave Seer a new goal to achieve. Her dark-blue eyes shimmered with a light I rarely saw.
"All right! I will become a soldier and proof my worth." She announced.
"Good. I will tell you what's going on in Superio now. Declan Wise is the current leader of the European Union. After the impact, he was the one that brought order to this Land. Then, a few months ago, the Lands declared war on each other. People were trained to become soldiers after that, and only the strongest ones, the Bearers are special. And at this moment in time, I am the strongest Bearer in this Land."
"Will I have to complete a military training regime?"
"Not if I decide to train you. Wait here for a moment."
I went out of the room and brought Briony and Silva back with me.
"This is Briony and this is Silva, my most trusted companions. They will help in your training." I announced.
"Training?!" They asked in unison.
"Yes. Seer here is quite the talent, I have a feeling she might be useful. She could also help us with the things your father spoke to me about earlier today."
"Well, if you say so. I'm Briony Wise." Briony introduced herself in an arrogant manner.
'She needs to get used to Seer.'
"Uhh. I'm Seer Aurora."
Suddenly, Seer jumped and looked around. 'Did Silva use his telepathy?'
"I'm Silva. I can telepathically speak to people. Though, it's just one-way communication."
'Of course it was Silva.'

We let Seer rest for the day and left soon after Briony and Silva introduced themselves. After leaving, Briony bombarded me with questions.
"Why is she so special? You seriously want us to train her? Can you even trust her? Do you really believe whatever story she told you? I bet she used some mind-altering Salan ability."
After her initial bombardment, Briony then turned red and started yelling at Silva while hitting him.
"Shut it, you creep! Don't you ever use your ability while I'm standing next to you!"
"Would you rather have me say it out loud?" Silva responded.
"Ugh! Let's go eat something, Haru." She locked her arm into mine and guided me to the cantine.
"Sorry, Haru." Silva apologized telepathically.
'I'm tired of this bickering. It's worse than my moth-...'
"Briony, let go. I still have to report to your father. Go and prepare the things we need to train Seer."
I freed myself from Briony's grasp and went to Declan's office again.
