Feng Shu opened his eyes. He looked at his surrounding and saw Beng Hun.
"Feng Shu!"
Beng Hun cried like a waterfall. His brother was still alive after that ordeal. He wiped away his tears soon after and got up to go hug Feng Shu. But, Feng Shu suddenly got up and backed away. He made a stance that seemed like he was about to fight.
Feng Shu started talking in a foreign language that Beng Hun couldn't understand. He yelled at Beng Hun but a few seconds later collapsed while grasping his head. Beng Hun rushed over and ignored what just occurred a few seconds earlier before Feng collapsed. He crouched and checked on Feng Shu.
"Feng Shu, are you alright?"
Feng Shu was breathing heavily. He cried in pain and was disorientated. But, he got through this and sighed. He looked at Beng Hun, then above his head.
"Beng Hun... that's your name."
"Yes its me, Beng Hun!"
But Beng Hun saw the blue square box appear on top of Feng Shu's head. It looked exactly as the same thing as the system that appeared in front of Beng Hun when he chose his path.
Beng Hun saw the path that Feng Shu chose. There was also another name besides Feng Shu. He didn't know what to think of this.
"Heavenly Demon... Akira Muta..."
The path that Beng Hun wanted to choose was taken by Feng Shu, and there's a name besides him too. Leading up to this point he thought, how did Feng revive? How is he able to choose a path? Is this even the Feng Shu I know?
"Are you Feng Shu...? Why does it say Akira Muta beside your name!"
Feng Shu looked at Beng Hun. He sighed deeply.
"I'm sorry, your brother is dead."
Beng Hun froze. Deep in his heart, he knew his brother was dead. There was no way he could come back from getting his heart pierced. Feng Shu suddenly getting up after all that made him suspicious, but he buried all those feelings just so he could believe that his brother was still alive. But now, he doesn't know who this person was at all. He was Feng Shu, but not him at the same time. What had happened he wondered. He became frustrated.
"Who are you! What did you do to my brother!"
Feng Shu stared at Beng Hun. He saw his face tensing up, the veins popping out on the side of his forehead.
"My name is Akira Muta. I came from another world called Earth. I was laying in my bed, about to go to sleep. When I closed my eyes, I was dreaming about being a cultivator. When I opened my eyes, I ended up in this body. I was confused for a moment but then a system interface prompted me to choose a path. I chose the Heavenly Demon's path and looked at my surroundings, saw you and got surprised. I thought you were an enemy for a moment and when I tried to move there was a sudden pain in my heart. It quickly faded away. When you approached me, I thought we were about to fight. I got into a stance but then a bunch of memories flowed into my head. It was painful, but I know you are my brother. I only remember up to the part where Feng Shu got pierced in the heart. He got killed by a disciple name Fu Si right?"
Beng Hun took his time to process what he just heard. His expression slowly started to turn into a look of disappointment as seconds go by.
"So you are a transmigrator. Stole the path I wanted to choose, and stole my brother's body that I wanted to bury."
Beng Hun clenched his fist. He looked at the ground and bit his lips. Disappointment quickly turned into anger.
Akira frowned. He felt guilty, but he wanted to set things right for the brother of the body he was in now.
"If you put it that way, it seems that I did you wrong. I didn't know you wanted that path, nor did I wanted to be in this body. Again, I'm sorry for what has happened but I assure you that I will help you in anyway possible."
Beng Hun whispered under his breath, "The heavens are detestable..."
"What was that?"
Beng Hun took a deep breathe. He unclenched his fist and relaxed his face. He looked up and met Feng Shu's eyes with a serious gaze.
"Nothing. You say you will help me? My brother got killed by Fu Si, and now I want to take vengeance for him! I will destroy that cursed Sect where misfortunes was daily in our lives. You now have his body, so please help me!"
Beng Shun paused for a moment, and continued on.
"I want to also get stronger, but now only one path is laid out for me to do so. I closed out of that thing you called a 'System' when I got startled with your cough. How do I open it again?"
"So you have that too? Interesting. you have to say in your head - System Open! I figured it out while I was still laying down on that tree. I was unsure on how you knew my name was Akira Muta but it seems like we have the same thing."
Beng Hun nodded and followed instruction.
[System Open.]
A drum-like sound was heard and the System opened. He was still in the path selection screen. The only one left was "Enemy of The Heavens." While disappointed, he knew that at least this will make him stronger. He pressed on it, and pressed again to confirm.
Beng Hun saw how his path changed. He didn't feel any changes to his body, but he knew that he will have to work a bit harder from now on.
"By the way, don't call me Akira Muta. Keep calling me Feng Shu. My name doesn't fit with this world, so I will use your brother's name to become accustomed with this new world. Look at my name again."
Beng Hun looked above Akira Muta's head.
"How did you do that?"
"Well, there's a pencil to the right of where your name is. Click that to change it. You don't need to anyways."
Beng Hun went and leaned against the tree where he rested originally. He was thinking about everything... what to do, and what to focus on.
[Will this transmigrator become an enemy in the future? Will he actually help me? How does he also have a system? Will I be able to achieve my goal with my path? Can I do it? How do I do it? Will I do it?]
His eyes started closing for long periods of time. He wanted to just rest his mind a little. Feng Shu stared at him for a few seconds, but then went to lean on the other side of the tree. Finally, Beng Hun fell asleep.
[19 hours later]
Beng Hun opened his eyes. He saw Feng Shu standing a few feet away looking at something. Beng Hun assumed it was the system that Feng was staring at. Feng Shu started to chuckle and turned around towards Beng Hun's direction.
"Finally you have woken up! You slept for almost a whole day! I went to get food while you're sleeping and discovered a few functions of the system along the way. I caught some foxes, and cooked them for you. Its right over there at the campfire. Your brothers' memories helped me greatly. Oh, there's also water there, I got it near the river."
Beng Hun's stomach started grumbling. He definitely was hungry as he had not eaten for 2 days. He was parched and dehydrated. He walked over to the campfire and started devouring everything in sight. A few minutes later, Beng Hun was satisfied. He looked over to Feng Shu who was pressing the air, and suddenly got a message on his system.
"Beng Hun! Accept the party invite!"
"What is a party?"
"It is basically like forming a group and helping each other. We will benefit greatly!"
Beng Hun understood clearly. He also saw that Feng Shu's system was now visible. Feng motioned him over to come and showed some of the functions he discovered.
"So here is the setting... it basically makes changes to the system based on what you want. This is the map..."
Beng Hun messed around with the system soon after Feng Shu got done talking to gain more understanding.
"What is a quest? My system suddenly opened telling me I have to do 5 'Pushups.' What are pushups?"
"You have the same quest as me! Ok, let me explain in simple terms. A quest is basically something you do, and usually you get a reward. Do every quest you receive. Also...
[Hm... the people in this world don't know how to do pushups... They probably don't know many of the terms back in my world. I must keep that in mind.]
I'll show you how to do pushup. You go into a position and push down, then up. Copy my form."
Feng Shu demonstrated 5 Pushups to complete the quest.
…
Beng Hun could see the System appear and disappear like a popup as Feng Shu did pushups. When he completed the quest, Beng Hun saw how his EXP bar turned blue and moved to the right.
"What is this EXP bar thing?"
"An EXP bar is basically your progress in leveling up. When you level up, you get stronger. It is like reaching a new stage in your cultivation."
Beng Hun understood instantly. It was simple. The more EXP you get, the higher your level. This will make you stronger as a result. He wanted to reach the next level, and so he copied Feng Shu's pushup demonstration to complete the quest.
"Beng Hun... you're pretty fat."
