Two days later, the shooting for the Opening MV commenced. Everything turned smooth during the performance, all the cameramen can do a good job seeing all the trainees are in high spirits that day which infected them with the same energy. It was a tiring day but everything ended in positive manners.
After the shooting, the next day, Kim Yohan came and announced the next task which will bring them to the next elimination. The team will be divided into 5 categories which are Vocal, Rap, Dance, All-rounder and Songwriting.
He then explained that for Vocal, Rap, Dance, they would have a minimum of 4 members in a team with the winning team getting the Extra Benefit of double counting of votes, but it was different with All-rounder and Songwriting.
For All-rounder, they have to do all three with the chosen song, and Songwriting is performing with their original song against each other. It was a 1vs1 Deathmatch!
The one that loses on All-rounder or Songwriting will automatically be eliminated on the live stage but the winner also gets a special privilege to pass the elimination regardless of their ranking.
All the trainees were surprised and muttered that it was really hard. To balance everything, Kim Yohan then said, since the winner of the dance battle also has 5 people, those 5 are prohibited to be on the same team again for this task. All eyes then focused on the 5 as disbelief was plastered in their face, as they look at each other while other trainees rejoiced internally because of that...
Xion was firstly asked to choose the category as he was the nominal leader that night.
Xion was hesitating, he walked towards the vocal which made Wooseok scream No! loudly and made other trainees laugh, but stopped and moved toward dance which made a lot of dancer faces turn wary.
He didn't stop and walked to the Songwriting Plaque and stood still. Everyone voiced "ooooooh" loudly.
Yeonjun is next and he walks straight to vocal, teasing Wooseok once again but then turns to All-rounder. Wooseok then quickly runs toward Vocal before Chan and Ravn react, which makes the other trainees laugh.. Chan goes to Dance and Ravn goes to Rap.
Everyone then chose their part as the 5 turned their back against the other trainees not knowing who will they face.
The result is 12 trainees in vocal, 16 trainees in dance, 10 trainees in rap, 6 trainees in All-rounder and another 6 in Songwriting. The team then divided into 6v6 vocals, 8vs8 dance, 3v3 and 2vs2 in rap, 6 1vs1 in All-rounder and Songwriting.
As Kim Yohan announced that 12 trainees are on the list of elimination regardless of their ranks, another 16 will be eliminated based on the lowest vote count.
Bringing the total to 28 eliminated trainees. Every trainee then realized how harsh it is in this competition. But Xion knows one thing, this is his last exposure since the third elimination is also the debut announcement.
Kim Yohan then announced that everyone will be given 2 weeks to prepare for their performance and no contact between the same categories of trainees is allowed before the live stage besaides that they also have to do some performance in the Music Show too.
Xion was sleeping in his dorm, but actually he was in Mirage. He's browsing songs on the shop list for his songwriting performance.
Scrolling at tens of thousands of songs makes him tired in the end. He asked Nocturne in the end," Noct, can you list for me song's that are not available in this world but catchy enough in human language with fun and upbeat music"
Noct then shows lots of fun songs from retro vibes to traditional songs, from edm to latin music, Xion is listening to all the samples but finally his decision falls on 3 songs on the list. One is " pen pineapple apple pen , the second is "Blue Da Ba Dee " and the third is "Levan polka ".
He then compared all the songs and picked one. He was totally surprised when he bought the song, all the history and origin of the song was imprinted in his mind, including many of it's covers and variations.
He then downloaded the full version into Mirage and had it played. It cost him 300 Fame points for the complete song, and currently his total fame point is 10400 after the episode of the show aired. He passively gained fame points because of the video performance.
In the morning, Xion just sits in the main hall, trying to scramble some words and rhymes to make a song, mumbling here and there..
The cameraman and script manager that follows him get bored because Xion didn't have any nice story so far in this recording.. and it lasted for a week, unknown to them, things are going to change the whole story of all trainees because of him.
Everyone is just practicing over and over again with almost no major hiccups on their part.
6 days before the second task recording, Xion entered the recording studio and started to record a song for his finale..
Last night he already bought another great song that will blow the stage and already tweaked the song to his own without changing much..
The music director is beside him to help him arrange and mix the composition.. Everything was running smoothly, the beat was great, the drum sound really upbeat, the repeated cello is the base sound, added with some organ sound and some other violin sound and some sfx sound.
Xion was satisfied with the beat, he and the music director really enjoyed the sound.. The music director even praised him about the sound; it was really new to his ear and the composition sounded simple but the complexity is hidden inside the sound.
The music director then asked him to record the voice to complete the song, but was dumbfounded when Xion told him, "I haven't put any lyrics in it, I just don't know but this melody keeps repeating in my mind over and over again…"
The music director is not satisfied with him, but they still have several days that's why he really don't bother enough since the rules also applied that he can't help any of the trainees in their music writing, except mixing and recording.
Four days gone just like that, there's only 2 days left before the live show elimination. Xion was found frustrated all over the days, his mood was so bad that it affected the production team that followed him.
They feel depressed too because all Xion does is write and scratch away his lyrics. He's entering the state of supersensitive mode and he can easily be angered here and there. Some trainees saw him like this, then mocked him while they were passing him to the cafeteria.
"Now that's why i dislike people who bite more than they can chew..", "you think your face can give you better skills?" the script writer was listened to and nudged the cameramen to point out the trainees that mocked Xion.
"You just got lucky with that face, you think it is easy to become better with just one month of training?" "you just embarrassed yourself, let me bid you an early farewell.."
"nice to meet you and goodbye…" another trainee then continued, " nice to meet you and goodbye…" The pack then repeated the same sentences towards Xion over again ..
"nice to meet you and goodbye.."
Xion just stays, for a couple minutes in silence and then he moves, he takes the cajoon and walks towards the camera and says "It seems the King's Judgment was too lenient before.." The production team then follows him, as they can see the anger in his face clearly as a day..
He was fully angered and his step is firm. He then opened one of the vocal training rooms and barged in.
He just lashed out at everyone on the vocal team and challenged them to a one on one battle, Wooseok frowned at him weirdly and displeased with him.
The other trainees that mocked him lashed back at him and accepted his challenge.. Wooseok then tried to mediate everything but his attempt was just another failure as the other trainees that felt challenged lashed back at him..
"So now you are defending him.. as expected, you guys are the same.." sensing that everyone started to think that he and Xion are in cahoots, Wooseok then decided to leave the room.. "
"This all is on yourself, leave me out of it.. Wooseok lashed back and slammed the door behind feeling indignant...
In the room, the script writer was delighted as he got some stories to unfold… Xion was standing in front of the Vocal team, as they started to sing the song that they are confident with, but Xion just counter them..
"If you have practice for the whole week, then just battle with the song that you are going to perform, and let me show how trash you are and how you have wasted your… , " everyone was angered and take on the challenge straightaway..
All the trainees sing one by one on the high note and try to up one another as the battle of anger commences..
Xion just stood and listened to their singing. After everyone finished their piece and put a smug on their face, Xion then sang the two songs that the two teams had practiced for a week.
Xion activated the toggle skill " Angelic Voice" while singing.. Everyone stood dumbfounded, even the production team was stunned..
One thing that they know for sure, this is just a rage challenge that happened because of frustration.. but Xion was… Everyone just stood there, can't think of any excuses… all the trainees were silent.
After finishing his part, Xion then mocked them, "with that skill of yours,, all i hear in my mind is like this…" Xion then played the cajoon and sang for them the lyrics of "Levan Polka"..
The trainees never heard the song or the lyrics that's why they think he's mocking them with gibberish lyrics, but what Xion's intention is that they just sing like a folk song without any dynamic modern tune in the making, but since the different in knowledge and language barrier gives mocking effect in the mind of the trainees present.
