The next morning with a heavy heart- Theo parted with the chicks.
They all chirped next to him- they all bid him farewell in their own way-
Some rubbing- others frowning… but they all… did- in fact, love him.
"Squeeake!" the mother bird declared- grabbing Theo with her claws and slowly flapping.
"Farewell, my lovelies!"
It was a brilliantly bright day.
Perhaps Theo's last day on this place-
The very last.
And perhaps this was the last time he was seeing them.
What were they?
His brethren?
Or something more akin to his kids?
He didn't know.
But they were objects of love… that he knew.
"Squee!"
"Squekeke!!"
"Squeake!"
Yeah, they loved him.
And Theo knew that…
Pure love. No strings attached.
None.
Why?
He didn't know why-
He didn't understand why either.
But-
He did believe-
He was loved.
And perhaps he was.
