Chapter 62 - chapter 62 Sugar

Cerberus had seen Wang Yan absolutely lose her shit over a simple swing. He had even laughed at Wang Yan for having an entire ugly crying moment in front of everyone, simply because she was going to lose her balance. The swing itself appeared to be really simple, as all you had to do was sit on top of it and swing yourself back and forth, so during the night he left his kennel and made his way towards the swing.

Though when he reached it, much to his surprise the Black Phoenix was already there inspecting the swing.

"So, you want to try it as well?" Cerberus asked him.

"I'm just here to watch you fall." Said the Black Phoenix

"You're pathetic." He said sarcastically.

Then he proceeded to move towards the swing and sat on top of it. But before he could even swing properly, he immediately lost his balance and fell onto the ground. This puzzled him as he almost felt this strong surge of qi hit him when he tried to swing.

The Black Phoenix saw this and he started laughing while he rolled around onto the dirt.

Thought Cerberus was annoyed with The Black Phoenix, he decided to ignore him and sat onto the swing again, this time trying to swing much more slowly. He was knocked off of it this time as well, as he fell face first onto the dirt.

He knew that he had given The Black Phoenix enough content to laugh on, he had to protect his dignity so he spoke up in a respectable yet dominating manner instead of stomping on The Black Phoenix's wings, "You can try it yourself if you find this so funny."

And indeed, the Black Phoenix did consider it to be really easy since all he had to do was fly if he lost his balance to regain it. A piece of cake.

No, it wasn't a piece of cake and he lost his dignity the same way Cerberus had moments ago.

So, he sat on it, and Cerberus pushed the swing forward, but before the Phoenix could even process anything he was thrown flying into the air with such a force that he couldn't even open his wings.

Shaken, he looked back at Cerberus who had a smug smile on his face, but then they both looked at Zhang Jian, realizing how his power was clearly beyond their imagination. They had been alive for eons and had never encountered anyone that was as surprisingly powerful as him, which somewhat scared them.

Wang Yan had been with Zhang Jian for a time long enough now, but she had somehow been able to retain her slim appearance from when the first time he saw her. He often found himself wondering if she had a particularly fast metabolism considering how the amount of food, she consumed should have swelled her up like a balloon at this point.

'The girl has a well for a stomach.' He thought to himself, and it was true since he would often be dumbfounded when he'd realize that Wang Yan would have consumed more food than him.

On such one instant he had to ask her to slow down, since she had consumed an ungodly amount of protein and was reaching out for her third serving now. It shocked and concerned him since he would rarely ever reach for a second serving, and a girl half his size was able to eat so more than he ever will.

"Slow down, girl. You're going to get a stomach ache if you keep on gobbling down the stew like this." He exasperated.

Wang Yan who was sitting beside him and Wu Ming suddenly became flustered and her cheeks flared up with an intense red blush, 'How can I control myself when the qi is so dense?' she mumbled to herself after obediently nodding to senior. The food always had an intense amount of qi radiating from it which made it nearly impossible for her to resist consuming the entire pot within a few minutes.

But today, Zhang Jian had come to conclusion that the amount of food Wang Yan consumed was not healthy, it was no surprise but it still needed to change. After thinking about it for some time he came to the conclusion that sugar had to be included in her diet as well, whether as a snack, or in the main course. She was bound to become plumper that way. But it wasn't as if he could go out to the town and buy some sugar, as in the ancient times sugar was an expensive commodity that only the rich and high-class folks could afford. Since he was neither he had to get a little more creative as to how he'd obtain sugar.

Luckily a few days ago he had been scouting the nearby mountains alongside Cerberus and his leathery cute nose had picked up some sort of a scent, and had started guiding Zhang towards someplace. Despite being skeptical he took the chance and decided to follow his companion to wherever he was leading him. The destination, however was a cave in the nearby mountains.

'I've never come across this cave before' he thought to himself, 'I'd have to be careful since I can't be sure what might be lurking inside'

He took a good look of the caves from the inside judging whether or not it'd be dangerous. Much less to his surprise, he was right. Just as he took his first step into the cave he was greeted by a loud buzz. Alarmed, he looked around and noticed a massive honey comb surrounded by an overly aggressive swarm of bees. He was ill equipped at the time so he surely didn't want himself or Cerberus to get stung by the bees so he decided it was best to retreat.

"Come boy!", He called out to his companion, who was seemingly ready to snatch the bee hive, but he didn't want him or his dog to get bit, so Zhang Jian decided to overcome this hurdle some other day.

Now this time, to safely acquire the honey he had formed a simple plan. He started collecting pieces of straw and had a leather pouch that he filled with some water. After he was done, he motioned Cerberus with his hand to follow him, who started wagging his tail in happiness. Zhang was proud of his little puppy for having grown so much, it made him feel a lot less alone in this ancient time.

Finally, he now had all of his supplies that were required so he packed everything up and decided to move. The weather was particularly sunny today and he wanted to take full advantage of this.

Wang Yan who was at the other end of the house noticed how Zhang Jian was preparing to leave the hut, decided to ask him if she could come alongside him on his journey to wherever he was headed. Working all day long and having to stay inside had bored her a lot thus she wanted to accompany her master to wherever he was headed.
