Chapter 7 - chapter 7 Purple Sect

Purple Mountain was a highland that was encamped around by towering mountains and was naturally engulfed at the top by bright clouds. It was completely inaccessible to ordinary people but for cultivators, it was sacred. It was abundant in Qi which made it a kind of heaven for cultivators. Purple Mountain was home to the Purple Sect, and it was also one of the most elite sect in the world. They were renowned for their skill, discipline and of course, their noble spirit. Only those who had been tested thrived in this place. They were the best of the best and consequently, they had produced countless legends and heroes who had excelled both within and outside the sect. it was precisely because of all this that the Devildom World considered the Purple Sect their ach archenemies. They hated all that they stood for and though they feared their leader Xiao Luo, they still despised him greatly. And of course, they wanted Purple Mountain all to themselves. If the cultivators here could thrive under the bountiful and Qi rich atmosphere, then the demons also felt they could cultivate here and grow stronger if they could establish a stronghold here by conquering the Purple Sect and taking over Purple Mountain.

At this very moment, the mistress of the Devildom World and the most dangerous threat to the mortal- Lin Xi the succuba was the commander who was championing the cause of the Devildom World to take over Purple Mountain and destroy the Purple Sect in the process. Many had thought of doing it, but Lin Xi was the one who had taken the initiative for she was a very decisive person.

As a person of action, Lin Xi also had the endearing quality that made her a dangerous opponent- patience. As the brains behind this attack, she had scoped out Purple Mountain and monitored the Sect's activities. She had waited a long time before events lined up in her favor, so as soon as intelligence report reached her that Xiao Luo was missing in action, she wasted no time in mobilizing an impressive army of demons. And marching all through the night, hidden from any watching eyes, they arrived in large numbers and descended on Purple Mountain with a terrible hand.

Even though there was none at Purple Mountain who equaled Xiao Luo's power, Purple Sect had a mechanism in place to checkmate any attack- a powerful invisible barrier. It was a force field of a thick layer of Qi that rose from the ground up to three thousand meters in height that surrounded Purple Mountain and all the cultivators within. Its powerful daunting force kept any stranger at bay. It sat like an invisible hemisphere all over the mountain and all dwelling within.

Seeing that a direct frontal attack was less than useless, Lin Xi ordered her vassals to surround the invisible barrier with legions of skilled demons who were adept at attacking and instructed them to constantly rain down destructive spells on the barrier by bombarding it with spells on the outside in an attempt to destroy the barrier. All through the day, and well into the late night, the air and land was filled with sounds of 'swoosh, swoosh BOOM, BOOM!.'

On the other side, the atmosphere was one of terror and panic. The poor disciples could do nothing but wait out the enemy and endure the harsh sounds of their frenzied attackers as they went to town on their defensive barrier. They couldn't sleep, they couldn't eat for they had no appetite, and they couldn't even think as the relentless booming sounds of the attack spells on their defensive barrier invaded their minds and robbed them of the quietness that was required of a skilled cultivator to meditate. After days and nights of not sleeping, everyone's eyes were red and their morale was low.

The barrier took hit on hit, and the light dimmed some more at the impact of every attack. A nervous disciple declared the obvious;

"This barrier won't hold much longer!"

A man clad in white garments glared at the disciples with fiery eyes and charged them in a tone that conveyed no fear whatsoever;

"Do not forget the master's teachings. Our will is nothing compared to death, for not even reincarnation cannot deter us from our destiny. Wars are not won by numbers"

He pointed to the demon queen reclining calmly on the other side and said coldly;

"If we kill her, the rest will flee- trust me."

BOOM! - A thundering crash came overhead and weakened the barrier further.

"Damn, I can no longer wait for little sister."

As he thrust out his palm and made hand signs, and he opened a hole in the barrier. A beast that resembled a bat surged through it excited to be the first but his excitement soon turned to despair as he was instantly pulverized by a beam of light that came from the man in white. Then the circle opening closed up immediately.

Sword in hand, he shot into the air as his long hair and sleeves were fluttered in the wind. He was sighted by some beasts who tried to close in on him but were stopped by a paralyzing injunction from the Demon Queen.

"Stand down!"

The others retreated as she emerged. The succuba floated in the air with little or no effort with her arms folded in front of her and a bored look on her face that stated that she was very much unfazed and that she had all the time in the world. It was no, ruse, she was a confident woman and her physical appearance declared that. The succuba's body resembled that of a thick ample woman. Her face was alluring and her features were very robust. She was clothed in cheongsam, which did little to conceal her proportioned figure.

Lazily, she opened her eyes slowly, turned to her vassals and spoke;

"You fools, don't you recognize the Dragon Sword? Its power is no joke. Isn't that right Long Yi?"

Despite the glaring distance between them, Long Yi heard her clearly as if she was speaking right into his ears beside him. Above the chaos that ensued on the ground behind them, her voice still ran clear and calm.

Long Yi wasted no words on her and began to execute his plan immediately. With a facial expression that showed no hurry, fear, or emergency, he began to make quick motions with his sword in his left hand, and chanted;

"IN, HYO, TOH, SHA, KAI, JIN, RETSU, ZAI, ZEN, extermination!"

At the word, "extermination," the golden sword screamed while it glowed with a bright golden energy and shot out streams of dazzling golden light. An impressive thing occurred in response to his enchantment. Right over his head, in the firmament that was the boundary between the heaven and the earth, an enormous golden dragon appeared in the air, beating its wings that sounded like the winds that accompany the storm on the high sea. It hovered over him like a winged serpent, as its beastly body eclipsed the sun and cast a terrifyingly long shadow on the mountains below. Everyone stood still and for the first time in many days, all was quiet for a time as everyone took in the magnificent sight of the golden dragon. Even more threatening than its diabolic size was the frightening Qi it emitted that had paralyzed everyone within a twenty mile radius. The dragon snorted violently and black wisps of smoke escaped it nostrils. Nobody needed to tell the demons to give way as they immediately scampered away like mice. The cultivators cheered in their hearts as they looked in awe at the dragon; allotropes

"So this is the notorious Golden Dragon?"

Everyone single disciple marveled at the sight. One of them stated a very interesting fact;

"I heard that the Dragon Sword is the only key to summoning the dragon of the Celestial World. He who wields the sword can only summon it three times in his lifetime."

The neophytes among them were amazed at the mention of 'the Celestial World.' If it involved the Celestial World, it meant that it was on a whole other level. They were still reeling from its overbearing presence when an ancient voice spoke out of the dragon's throat;

"You who summons me; what do you want?"

Still in the air, Long Yi bowed with his hands folded in front in reverence to the Celestial being;

"Forgive me for summoning you at a time like this. The Devildom World is upon us, and Master Xiao Luo is missing in action. I humbly ask that you intervene in our present situation."

The dragon's giant pupils which roughly the size of two giant basketballs swept across the demonic hosts. Paralyzed by the fear of being devoured whole, the demons remained static, not daring to move or even breathe lest they attracted the unenviable attention of the daunting Dragon.

The dragon's extra-large eyes that seemed to be able to see beyond the ordinary, searched further and looked beyond the throng of mediocre demons. Finally its eyes settled on Lin Xi and the dragon's countenance darkened. Lin Xi on the other hand regarded it carefully as she waited for it to make its first move. After carefully assessing the situation, the Dragon gave a tactical view of the battlefield;

"I see nothing but mediocre demons. They are nothing in my sight." He paused for a while and continued in a more morbid tone; "Except that woman over there."
