Along the way, Gao Lin told Qiao Mei about what the Gao family used to do on the surrounding land, pointed out the assets which used to belong to the Gao family and told her about what he remembered of this area. Back then, he had to walk down this road to go to and from school. Gao Tao liked to walk with him and they had a lot of fun together.
