Chapter 2 - A small three leaf Clover (2)

After passing out, she felt like her body was floating. A mixture of heat, yet cold air, and wet towels. She wanted to hide under the covers and let her body snuggle, but she knew she couldn't.

She struggled staying conscious after hearing voices, but hardly stirred. Her current state was no condition to move.

She wanted to try. At the very least, make out their few words. If she just had a general idea it may help.

She could hear yelling. "You," "stop!," "misunderstanding," "sleeping," and above all else, "poison". The key word she wanted.

She had hoped her hypothesis was true. If she truly was poisoned then she could escape the future of succumbing from pain at the moment.

Her body right now must be having an overload, and did quite a bit to survive. In fact, it was impressive she neither succumbed nor became immune. Depending on the doses she'd think she would be immune, perhaps that's why the author did not add that.

Or perhaps, they changed poison. Even doses. Why didn't she ever fall to this or the others she wondered as she now had time to think.

This novel was pretty bad. Now that she was a side-character she once thought was beautiful for being selfless she wanted to cry and scream.

Selfless? More like the author threw her under the bus for the female lead to throw up peace signs in a cute pose and say thanks in the end.

She was too focused on romance to notice the sheer red flags! The prince who is the second lead dies for her, and the duke's faction takes control. The second male lead was thrown in the kid and the female lead somehow sacrificed him to the tower.

Go back, she said. It would be safe and fun. Others with extreme magic abnormalities would be there just like him.

Only for him to leave sad he never told her anything… after saving her. On five occasions. All to be overshadowed by the duke. The twins had some complex regarding an affair and their mom, even losing their sister and were the insane and friendly yet scheming type mercenaries.

Just what spiral did they have or even do to deserve such a fate? If her eyes were open they would just shake. She even recalled that the female lead was magicless! Or so, she's perceived as until it's revealed she had an overpowered magic. Which could of just saved her repeatedly.

Past, the ability to see into the past. She could see anyone's feelings about the past solely by touch.. and she was touched a lot. By obsessive antagonist for example who grabbed her hand and she would of known him angry enough to be plotting something because the past is every second prior.

This was not an understatement. In the finally chapter she touches the duke's hand upon marriage. Her inner monologue stated she was overwhelmed with happiness feeling the hope and happy pure future he held in his heart a moment prior.

She believed the author was making-up as she went. Honestly, she would too. Her characters were a lost cause after the prince, who was perfect, was not the male lead.

Even her brother suffered. Just one, the author was clearly bias to the blonde due to the taste in cold and frightening characters who were merciless. He only lost his title, and riches.

The other was taken to the dungeons to be extravagantly-executed publicly where he was made as a centerpiece of a party for people to scone.

After the death of their sister, he went mad. They both did. Even worse than before, trying to kill the woman they love like a one eighty. The duke humiliated him who took the fall in public.

His head for display and made an example. His sister saved the woman but he physically broke the brother until his body was unrecognizable.

The duke was starting to seem crazier than them. Actually she was convinced after a deep analysis he was craziest!

The prime example of a man who did not deserve power. She genuinely worried for the kingdom despite everything being alright during the sequel spin off volume series.

As she was angry she found herself waking out of her haze. She had firmly decided to rebel against the author, and give Clover her happy end without going near the dumpster show of a female lead.

She felt slapped in the face of a friend who brought up actual counter arguments. The book she liked in this case was terrible in retrospect!

Definitely just not the realization talking. Everything was fun and games until you were the victim and fool of the joke.

"Master, this is a misunderstanding!" She heard a man shout out before the clang of metal. She could not see but felt something on her blanket.

She was physically shaking at the thought. "Oh, too bad your coat flew." She heard the voice of a child. She silently thanked only a coat being on her.

However her eyes flew open! Was someone about to get stabbed?? She finally found enough strength through fear to open up her forest green orbs, and tilt her head towards the voices despite being in pain. There her brother caught her gaze in shock.

"She's awake!" He shouted while hovering over her, his blonde hair symbolizing him to be the older of the two.

She was afraid but pulled herself together. Just because she wanted to live doesn't mean she wanted to see or believe others get stabbed in her stead! She tried to move.

As she got up, he helped her as in came her other brother with his heel dug into the man's back. Her father soon followed hearing the loud shout and entered.

The man tried to speak but was stepped on, completely trampled, and held down. The younger of the two kept a close eye. "You let him run." He neither had menace nor any real surprise. His voice was purely monotone.

It was as though he stated a fact, if not anything. Her father immediately came over after roughly discarding his overcoat, lowering his voice. "Do you feel alright, Veer?" He asked gently.

She wanted to claim her whole family as bipolar. No, this entire novel was bipolar, the series. Shaking her thoughts aside she had to save the man.

She still had a conscious, no matter how much she avoided her doom end in Andromeda. "I'm fine, papa. But how are you?" She asked, recalling the novel.

Her character was frail and referred to her parents as mama and papa instead of being formal. She'd also call her brothers nicknames, rather than actual names.

She wanted to try and smooth into the conversation. She could hear the man mumbled please as her father happily spoke. "Everyone is fine so long as you're happy," he spoke and she could hear a man getting smushed. "We've identified the culprit so there's no need to fear." He stated.

After that was said, the man was able to get up and walk over to the marquis with a sigh and fixed his clothing. "Marquis Hargrove. Please tell your sons you sent me in here to check on the young lady." He said with a customer service smile.

Huh? Just what was happening? "Ah, pardon me. I sent Schofield here to check on Clover." He said nonchalantly while returning to his daughter.

The man who was called 'Schofield' had a mixture of betrayal and annoyance. More so directed at the kids. "I had raised you two since children!" He said with a pout and looked on the verge of tears.

The two boys looked away and said nothing as he continued. "You two are like your father! Think before you do, he used to be exactly like that!" Their father now gulped and turned away.

It seemed this man had managed.. to do the actual impossible. Scold the three bipolar individuals without being yelled at. Or well… he was stabbed at.

"Value your life! And most importantly value the lives of others!" He finished before wiping off dust on his shirt and sighing, reaching for papers and giving a report.

The name was not familiar, but it sounded like he was not an enemy. Or at least they stopped hurting him. "Are you alright?" She asked just as he was about to speak letting it slip.

He had a tear in his eye. "My lady, thank you. You were just poisoned and yet you worry for me unlike your cruel family." He said as the blonde looked like a feral cat that wanted to pounce, as the other two still avoided his look.

This poor man, she thought. Just how did they treat their staff? "After this, we are sparring outside." The boy said followed by silent nods of the other son and father.

"Ahem. Marchioness Hargrove has been sentence to house arrest for sheltering the culprit, the culprit is now in the underground until further notice, charged a capital crime request." He had a professional attitude around him and his face was now mature.

His red locks were a bit darker than usual for redheads, but extremely pretty. She really liked his bangs as well, as they ghosted over his cheeks. She was not normally a fan of foreheads but he did look good.

His eyes were a light blue, but despite his pretty appearance she could not recall him. "The young lady's nanny will be replaced as an accomplice, inserting small doses of poison into her skin at night. The main culprit will be charged with poisoning, treason, attempt to murder, harming a noble, unauthorized possession of poison and strong herbs, and attempted kidnapping." He finished off.
