Chapter 19 - Falling in Love at First Sight

The two of them finished breakfast, then Angga cleaned up all the dining utensils as a form of gratitude for Evan's making breakfast.

It was not a difficult matter for them, especially for Evan to bring in a Household Assistant to take care of the house as well as prepare food and other necessities. However, Evan chose not to have any assistant living in the house. Because he wanted to feel calm. It is enough that there is only Angga as his assistant, whose presence has made the condition of the house very crowded.

Evan only calls Assistant every two days to clean the house as well as do the laundry. And even then, hire a laundry service to make it more practical and secure. In essence, apart from work, Evan wants to be able to refresh his mind for a moment from the hustle and bustle of the metropolitan city. Besides that, it is a way to 'escape' from the matchmaking agenda that is always echoed by Papa.

Think of it, being in this place was one of Evan's ways to stall the ridiculous plan. While thinking about the advice that Angga once conveyed to him, about strong evidence to reject the matchmaking.

Besides that, he wants to take a break so that his mind is often tired because of the busyness that asks to be completed.

Evan was very tired, especially Puspa Ajeng his Mom seemed to not care about it at all. The middle-aged woman can't take part if her husband Jonathan has made a decision. Then, what about the first and second brothers who are free to choose their path in life? Why can't he do the same thing as Agatha and Andre? Honestly, those unanswered questions often bothered Evan.

Yet all this time, he had always been an obedient child. But why does it seem as if he has no right to determine his path in life? Especially related to life companion.

From this, it can be seen that it is Evan who has a much more mature mind than his brothers. Even though he is the youngest child, he wants to think about the fate of the family company and accept responsibility as a substitute for his father.

"Van, where are you going?" Angga asked when he saw Evan walking towards him with his clothes neatly.

"I want to go out. Want to come along?"

"Today I invited Lia to meet. She's here, she knows cool places to visit. Unfortunately, Lia can't. She said there was an event," explained Angga, then chose to lie down again on the sofa while watching TV.

"So you don't want to come?" Evan asked to confirm.

"Hehe, No, Mr. Evan. I take care of the house. Seriously badass!"

"Okay, but don't call me if it's not important. Remember that, okay?"

"Okay, Boss!!"

---

Evan drove leisurely, looking around; enjoying the activities of the area that has earned the nickname 'city of flowers'.

It was already half-past nine in the morning, the city traffic was so calm and didn't make Evan feel as nervous as in the Capital. Because everything seems to run smoothly as if flowing in an orderly manner.

"When I see your face … There's not a thing that I would change. 'Cause, you're amazing … just the way you are…."

Bruno Mars' song "Just The Way You Are" accompanied Evan's walk that morning. Sometimes he sings along because the song is one of his favorite songs from the past.

While busy driving, Evan slowed down when he saw a girl about to cross the zebra crossing towards the hospital. He gestured to the side as a sign that he was about to cross.

"Lia?" Evan muttered under his breath as he watched the girl who had now made it across and stood in front of the hospital gate for a moment.

Tin! Tin! Tin!

Immediately Evan realized that another vehicle had started honking its horn from behind, asking him to speed up. Reflexively, Evan pressed the turn signal to the right and chose to enter the Hospital area.

Immediately, he was looking for a special parking space for cars that are still empty. Fortunately, the parking attendant swiftly approached and guided him to make it easier to park the car.

"Thank you, Sir," Evan said when he got out of the car and found the father still standing near his car.

"Ugh, you're welcome. Do you want to visit, sir?"

"Uh, yes sir. Is it time for lunch?" Evan asked, stammering a little, considering that he didn't know what his real purpose was in coming to that place. He only saw a girl like Lia, then reflexively drove his car towards the hospital parking lot.

"Yeah, it's dawn. Please go ahead, the entrance is over there," said the father in a friendly manner to which Evan nodded.

After Mr. Parking left, Evan looked around to look for Lia. However, he seems to have lost track of the girl. Because he was already in the hospital area, Evan finally decided to go inside. Perhaps, the girl he saw was indeed Lia and hoped they could meet.

Evan's arrival seemed to have more or less attracted the attention of the visitors who were sitting in line at every Poly Clinic there. How not attract attention? Evan is present as an artist with unnatural good looks.

His steps are so steady and look relaxed. But the look in his eyes showed such deep friendliness.

When his net accidentally collided with an old woman who was sitting in line using her wheelchair, Evan smiled and nodded slightly. There were whispers of admiration ejected from the visitors. But this did not make Evan die of style.

His eyes again tried to find the figure of Lia. However, for a moment Evan became a little doubtful, whether he really saw the girl or just someone who looked like Lia.

Never finding what he was looking for, Evan decided to sit in one of the empty waiting chairs to rest for a while.

---

Drrrrtttt… Drrrtttt… Drrtttt…

Evan took his vibrating cell phone out of his pocket. In the next second, the look on his face immediately changed when he saw the name that appeared on the screen; Mom!

As usual, Puspa— Evan's mother just called and asked about how she was. He and Angga had arrived a few days ago. The woman gave advice and a few messages to Evan to stay healthy.

However, it seems that Evan's attention is now diverted because he looks back at Lia. Unexpectedly, Lia, who was also receiving a call, was seen walking closer to her to sit on the empty chair in front of Evan.

"Mom, continue later. I want to go."

After saying that, Evan immediately ended the call, then for a moment, he watched Lia from behind who was still busy calling. He decided to wait until the girl finished the call.

"Already! You guys are so loud I swear. Who's idea is this, calling this group? It's like watching football, lots of people. Hey, Amanda? This must be your job, right? Alright, let's chat. I'm in the hospital, here. Bye!"

Without waiting for an answer from her friends, Lia immediately ended the call. "Tskckck ... Manda's behavior is just okay, hihi. You bastard!" said Lia while replying to a chat from her friend who immediately bombarded her with lots of questions.

Suddenly, a caller said the girl's name,

"Lia?"

"Uh, ya?" As fast as lightning, Lia looked back after hearing her name being called.

Eyes both met each other, staring at each other without blinking at all. Seconds passed, but not a word was spoken. Then, suddenly, a subtle whisper that tickled the heart greeted them. And, all of that has immediately given a foreign sensation that has never been felt before.

Slowly the feeling began to spread throughout the body, then led to their heartbeats whose rhythms changed to an unusual rhythm. And…is this what they call falling in love at first sight?
