Chapter 5 - Hesitate

The girl named Lia did not immediately answer Evan's invitation. Due to the reaction that was now seen, she instead looked like a confused person. This can be seen from her eyes that keep moving to the right and left quickly; as if weighing an offer is too difficult to decide.

Evan, who had been watching the girl named Lia, was immediately able to conclude that maybe the person concerned was having a lot of business. So even though she couldn't accept it, she didn't feel good if she had to refuse his invitation.

"Don't worry, if you can't do it right now... that's fine. We can talk another time," Evan finally said which made the girl gasp.

"Oh no, why not? I'm not busy. Just thinking about it, hehe. Emmm … how about while taking a walk?" asked the girl shyly.

Evan wanted to refuse the invitation because it was more comfortable to talk in that place. But because he felt bad, so he finally agreed to his invitation. What's more, wasn't the girl someone he was looking for?

"In that case, okay." Finally, he agreed.

---

The two of them walked through a garden located opposite a row of flower stalls. For some time, there was no conversation between them. Finally, Evan spoke again.

"Emmm… Angga said, you live near here and have a flower garden. Does that mean if you become a supplier for those flower stalls, huh?"

The girl named Lia's brow furrowed as if she didn't understand what Evan was saying.

"Wait a minute, did you say Angga? Who is Angga?" asked the girl in surprise.

One of Evan's eyebrows rose when Lia asked like that. Didn't Angga say last night he met the girl? Why does he not even remember at all? Or maybe ... Angga even lied to him?

The girl named Lia also frowned because she felt unfamiliar with the name mentioned earlier. Because she felt that she had never met someone named Angga, much less had time to talk with him.

"It was Angga who met you at the convenience store last night," Evan explained again, but it only made Lia frown in confusion.

"Last night, I did go to the convenience store but… I didn't meet anyone." Lia's explanation immediately made Evan scratch the back of his head that didn't itch.

Evan thought for a moment, then concluded that Angga had lied to him. Perhaps, his best friend had deliberately done that to repay the ignorant attitude he did to him. For Evan, it was a pretty plausible reason.

But this time, it seems that Angga is a little too much in lying to him. What if Evan had the wrong person? Where do you want to put his face later? A hint of anger flashed through Evan's mind. And of course, after this, he would make calculations with his best friend.

"So you haven't met him yet?"

"After all, who is Angga?" the girl asked Evan again a second time.

"Wow, I think that my friend cheating on me. He said, last night he met you at the convenience store. Based on the information obtained from him, today I was also looking for you," Evan explained with a slightly annoyed tone that could not be hidden.

"Hihi… it could be so. Maybe he just wants to prank on you. But the most important thing is… you've managed to meet me. Isn't it?"

"Hmm… you're right. That's my main goal," Evan said confirming and agreeing with what Lia said. Even so, he will still make calculations to Angga so that everything becomes clearer.

"Wait here," said Lia suddenly, then half running, the girl headed for the legendary ice seller who happened to be passing in front of them.

While waiting for Lia, Evan decided to sit on a park bench that was available there. Then not long after, the girl approached carrying two ice creams tucked into white bread.

"This is called Es Thung-Thung. It's famous here, just try it," said Lia after Evan accepted the ice cream in her hand, then she sat beside the young man.

"Oh, I just heard his name for the first time."

"Usually, when the ice cream is mixed with milk, this ice cream uses coconut milk. So, there is a savory taste. I'm sure you've never tried it. Just look at your appearance, I already know that you must be one of the richest people in Jakarta."

The words from the girl named Lia made Evan smile. In his heart he thought if his appearance like this was immediately labeled as a rich person, what about his family?

Before Evan could respond, the girl resumed her speech. "Material or wealth is that number because the most important thing is personality."

"Wow, what a fine line. But, in this day and age, is there still such a thing? I think the material is the main thing to consider when starting a serious relationship."

"It's still there, how come ... I'm the one," answered Lia, blushing, then returned to enjoy the ice cream in her hand.

"By the way, this ice cream tastes good. Not inferior to factory ice cream." Evan changed the subject and commented on the Thung-Thung Ice that felt right on his tongue.

---

They talked again and there was quite a lot to talk about. Evan, who is used to meeting various kinds of people, is starting to be able to judge how the behavior of the girl named Lia.

Physically, she is beautiful. She has wavy black hair and tan skin, making her look exotic. But for some reason, there was nothing that could interest Evan. Just flat!

The girl whose name is Lia, her behavior is indeed gentle. But for Evan, her attitude seemed to imply something was being hidden. Looks calm, but holds something he doesn't know. And that didn't make him want to find out at all.

Lia's attitude reminded Evan of Berlin. He didn't mean to compare the two, but it seems that Berlin also has almost the same characteristics as Lia; softly shy.

It's just that Berlin's way of speaking and her response to something that is being discussed, makes the girl feel more alive and fun to talk to. Unlike Lia, who only responded with "yes" or "no" or very short answers. As if, she was not at all interested in what Evan was talking about. Or rather, completely clueless about the chatter.

For example, when Evan asked about the kinds of flowers planted by Lia's family, the girl only answered 'there are many' without wanting to explain in more detail. For Evan, usually, someone who pursues something, whether she/he likes it or not, will respond quite enthusiastically. However, it seems that the expectations of the girl named Lia are too high, not at all according to her thoughts so far.

Even then though again that everyone has different characteristics, so he understands that as much as possible. But even so, once again Evan still couldn't find anything more impressive than the girl named Lia.

"Evan, is it okay if I ask for your number?" because she already felt like a friend, Lia asked for Evan's phone number, the young man took out his cell phone from his pants pocket.

"Oh, okay," said Evan.

"To establish communication." Add the girl

Evan nodded in agreement, then when he was about to save the girl's number, suddenly a call came in and displayed the name ANGGA SIALAN as the caller. Evan gestured for Lia to pick up the call.

"WHAT TIME ARE YOU GOING HOME? IT'S STILL LONG?!"

Again, without greeting at all, Angga immediately spoke from the other side of the phone in a high tone.

"Can you lower your voice or not? I'll be home soon."

"I WANT TO GO!" said Angga fiercely. His voice made Evan's ears feel uncomfortable.

"Yeah, go, just go. There you go, don't call if it's not important."

Tut!

Evan ended the call without waiting for Angga to answer. From the other side, Angga cursed profusely, then rushed out of the house and closed the door very hard.

---

"Friend?" Lia asked as soon as Evan drew closer to her because he had finished calling.

"Angga, what I was about to tell you. I'm still mad at him. Just watch out when you get home," Evan threatened with a chuckle, which was also followed by Lia.

"Oh, by the way I should go now. Earlier when you called, my mother had already sent an SMS telling me to go home."

"Ah, I see. Sorry for interrupting your activities today. Once again, thank you."

"Nevermind. My motorbike was in front of the flower stall earlier, then… where is your vehicle?" asked Lia half probing.

"Oh, it's not far from here. Over there," Evan said, pointing in the intended direction.

"Then, let me accompany you first!"

"Uh, no need. Didn't you say that your mother sent a message to come home soon?"

"Hehe, it's okay. It's just a moment."

---

Arriving there, it seems that the girl named Lia was stunned when she saw Evan's car parked proudly.

"Audi A5," muttered the girl quietly but still heard by Evan.

"Wow, it's great that you can recognize the series with just one look."

"That's right. That's the latest Audi, the price starts at 1.4 billion if I'm not mistaken. That's crazy… erm, I mean that's cool." The girl seemed to be a little more enthusiastic than before.

"Hehe, not mine. But it belongs to the company," Evan said, not wanting to admit it.

"If the car company is that good, it means ... well, I've met a successful person from Jakarta."

Evan chuckled at Lia's words. He never thought that he would get such a response from the girl. Because again, the girl had rarely shown her enthusiasm for the conversation they were having. But now, this trait seems to have disappeared after seeing what kind of vehicle Evan was using.

The ringing of Lia's cell phone made the girl stop asking Evan a few things. She then excused herself, then turned, and left Evan. In her heart, Lia was so irritated because her mother kept calling.

From where he stood, Evan still looked at Lia until the girl was out of sight. And once again, Evan didn't feel anything interesting in his meeting with a girl named Lia. Perhaps, he had set his expectations too high, just because he was once a 'hero' for him. Instead of worrying about it, Evan decided to go home and rest.

Meanwhile …

So voraciously, Angga was enjoying chicken porridge near a campus. He was starving after walking quite a distance just to look for that food.

Presumably, Angga is in bad luck because along with the way, he did not find the porridge seller he was looking for. Finally, Angga found a cart of chicken porridge around a campus.

Inwardly, he resented Evan for leaving his just like that. As a result, he had to find breakfast on his own and walked tens of meters away. Uh, lousy!

While enjoying the chicken porridge, as well as the taste of the corn. A greeting from a girl, made Angga turn around.

"Angga? Erlangga, is that you?"
