Chapter 002 Forced identity
…
The golden rays of the sun slowly recede from the horizon as the bright yellow light was about to hide from beyond the mountains. The deep forest slowly darkens as gloom was about to envelop the land.
It has been 3 days since this part of the forest became silent.
No sound of birds or any insect dare enter this particular territory.
Even the fiercest of animals in the forest dare not intrude the premises as if every creature knew that this place contains danger.
The receding light from the horizon suddenly hits a fallen tree on the ground. If one checks the branches, one could see that there are traces of dried crimson blood on its surface.
And behind that fallen tree there lays a figure.
"Ugh…"
A moan disturbed the silence.
"Argh…"
The rustling of sound followed as a small figure slowly rose up from the ground while covered with dried and fallen leaves.
As the leaves cleared away, a black long-haired woman slowly sits up from the ground. Her feature is a bit unkempt and there are traces of burn on her clothes and skin.
The woman's eyes slowly trace her body as she seems to be looking for something.
Her eyes are like two bright orbs that quickly change their colors… blue, green, black, and red.
When she saw that her left leg is actually pierced by a sharp dead tree branch, her brows furrowed.
She gritted her teeth and then forces her thigh out of the sharp tree branch sticking out of the ground.
"Argh…" she groaned in pain as crimson blood was spilled over.
She subconsciously uses her power to heal the wound on her thigh and her body. As the wounds closed down and her body healed, she suddenly staggered and almost fell to the ground.
Luckily she was able to control herself and then sits to the side while leaning on the tree.
"This… What is happening? Where am I?" she muttered as she felt a bit confused and lightheaded.
She could not remember anything as her mind is a bit blank right now. She looks around and wanted to move, but she suddenly feels pain in her left thigh.
"Hmm? Pain? This… Haha… Hahaha…" she suddenly laughed as if she found something really hilarious.
"Pain! It… it has been too long since I felt pain…" she muttered with a hint of excitement in her dirt-covered face.
She suddenly closes her eyes, and then she frowns as she discovered something aside from her own memory coming back.
"Hmm… I am still me. My demi-god spark is still present… but… Why did my flesh become that of a mortal? And I… Hmm? I did not have any Reiki left in my body. Did I just use them all up?" she muttered as confusion filled her mind with many questions without any answers.
"This is annoying…" she said as she looks at the slowly darkening sky.
"This… this is not Celestia… Am I not in Talos Continent anymore?" she muttered as she observed the sky.
She wanted to move, but then she felt the pain in her thigh once again.
She grits her teeth and then looks at the ground. She found a part of her defensive robe burnt and in tatters. She could not help but feel a bit annoyed as that was her favorite robe. She suddenly looks at her finger and found that none of her rings are present.
Her face immediately turned a bit pale. Her rings are gone… she has kept all of her treasures in her rings. But now they are all gone?
She did not know why but another emotion suddenly overcomes her heart and it was depression.
How could she not feel depressed when the treasures that she kept for many years in her rings are now gone? Then suddenly she found some traces of dust on her fingers and she could not help but want to cry.
Gritting her teeth in annoyance, she grabs the piece of cloth on the ground and quickly wrapped it around her wound. She has already healed the deep wound on her left thigh and now the only thing left is a trace of a superficial wound.
But she still needs to wrap it so that it would not bleed too much.
While wrapping her wound, she suddenly recalled what truly happened when she enters this planet.
When she was hit by the last lightning of the tribulation, her energy barrier dissipated. And then she was engulfed by a spatial tear.
That spatial tear seems to have opened a wormhole in space and she ended up appearing in a strange solar system.
Her figure floated in space and her consciousness slowly blurred.
Then all she could remember was her helpless body falling to the blue planet in the system and her outer armor was burnt as she enters the atmosphere. She used her remaining power to resist as she crash-landed on the planet and then blacked out.
"Sung Jisoo…" she muttered.
Then suddenly, another memory appears in her head which made her furrow her brows.
She suddenly looks up in the sky as if trying to find who dares put those things in her mind.
"Does this world has someone guarding it?…" she muttered as she shakes her head to arrange the memories inside her head.
"Sun Jisoo… an orphan… and I grew up in a small village in the mountains… I even have my own records already?" she said with a helpless smile.
She did not know why she was given these memories, but she did not care.
"Haha… Alright… alright, that's acceptable." She just said while shaking her head.
Her surroundings are slowly getting dark so she did not have time to dawdle in this place. She decided to leave… but then she frowns as she looks at her left thigh.
She took another piece of clothing and once again wraps her wound until she did not feel uncomfortable anymore.
As she was about to take a step, Sun Jisoo suddenly stopped and her eyes turned sharp.
Although her body is now that of a mortal, her honed senses over her long lifespan are still there. And from what she could hear, there are people approaching her direction.
"This will be the first time, I will meet the people of this world…" she said.
Suddenly, Sung Jisoo was a bit startled. This is because… the language in her head is actually not the one she knew from her old world… but is the local language of this place.
"Hihi… This is convenient…" she muttered with a slight sneer.
She looks around and then saw a tree branch. The tree branch is almost the length of her old sword, and she deemed it a good weapon just in case.
She picks it up and then found a small stream. With curiosity in her gaze, she walks limply towards the side of the stream.
She suddenly saw her dirt-covered face and frowns.
"This will not do… I need to clean myself up first… I need to be presentable at least…" she said but stopped… as she froze on the spot.
She did not know where those ideas came from at all. In fact, she felt a bit strange for some time now. She was known as a cold goddess in her previous world, unfeeling and cruel. She does not have those emotions she just felt and would not think in such a way as to be presentable to others. But in here, she suddenly has those kinds of feelings?
"This is too weird…" she said as she shrugged her shoulders and began washing the dirt off her face.
As she looks back on her reflection on the clear water stream, a faint smile appears on her face.
She found that she still has her beautiful appearance. Her straight yet cute dainty nose, her supple light pink lips, her almond-shaped eyes with her long eyelashes, and her thin perfectly shaped eyebrows are still the same.
In short, the one looking back in her reflection is the same face of the goddess that she was.
"Beautiful…" she muttered narcissistically.
Then her eyes suddenly went wide as she quickly covered her mouth in astonishment.
She is acting a bit weird now as she seems to have a different personality within her that seems to have suddenly come out. She is now guessing that this might be her true personality before she was brainwashed by the Oolong sect many years ago.
Her eyes suddenly shifted and then her head turns as her gaze landed on the figures not too far from her.
…
While Sung Jisoo is washing her face and admiring her reflection on the small water stream, a young woman is actually frantically running for her dear life.
The young woman has tattered clothing, and her body is filled with bruises.
Both of her arms have traces of wounds on them and she is wearing partly torn dark blue jeans in which her exposed knees are bleeding. One of her feet is bare as she is now only wearing one of her rubber shoes.
Meanwhile, her hair is unkempt and filled with leaves and dust.
She seems to have fallen from somewhere which causes the wounds on her body.
Behind the young woman are two men.
One of them is wearing a baseball cap as if he is trying to be mysterious while hiding his eyes. And is wearing a dark blue denim jacket and pants while on his waist hangs a sharp knife.
The other one is wearing a long sleeve checkered shirt and denim pants. The most noticeable feature of the guy is his balding head.
When the three enter the area where Sung Jisoo is, they suddenly stopped.
The woman, in particular, is already at a breaking point that when she saw another person she seems to have been saved as she runs towards Sung Jisoo without thinking with tears brimming in her eyes.
When Sung Jisoo saw this, she could not help but want to scold the young woman. But even if this young woman did not go near her, she knew that trouble would still happen anyway.
Judging from the looks those two guys are giving her, she could already tell what kind of people are they with just one glance.
