"They got her." Brent's voice echoed in my head over the phone. We had just left the building for a few minutes when he called, telling me that Corpuz men got Lara, and I could hear the panic in his voice.
When I heard those words from him, it felt like the air had left me, and my heart pounded.
He said he was tailing them, but the panic in his voice heightened when he mentioned another van suddenly appeared with the same color and plate, and he couldn't tell which one had Lara inside. I asked him the color and the plate number of the van and told him to pursue the other while I searched for the other, asking him where the direction the van was going.
After he told me the information I needed, we hung up.
"Henry, let me drive." It is better for me to drive than to give him direction. We quickly exchanged seats, and I wanted my car to fly so I could reach Lara as soon as possible.
