Chapter 4 - First Mission

As they left the hall, they looked at the rewards for the quest after completion. It read Rewards: 100 silver coins and 9 health potions. They seemed straight forward but Aiden had a feeling there was more to this.

They approached the city walls and the massive gate inlaid in them. There was a handful of guards keeping watch and checking for monsters. It was only one of two gates in the city and the guards gave them a stern look and asked for identification. They showed the quest paper and their Hall medallions with that out of the way they headed through the gate. They were given general directions to the area of the quest.

As they left the city, the sound of battle could be heard from the distance. They had never realized how close the monsters were but now as they explored the outer area they heard the sounds of monsters coming their way. The ground started to shake as the group saw a group of new adventurers running towards them with an angry pack of wolves hot on their heels.

Aiden looked at this other party and shouts, " What happened why are you bringing these monsters to the city?" As the fleeing group run past them Aiden sees the reason seems to be something upset the wolves. The system points out from his knowledge talent allows him to understand animal behavior and it seems that something has arrived in the area that's displacing the ordinary low rank creatures. These wolves appeared to be rank E but the system informs him that in large packs they could Rank C monsters.

"Well guys looks like we got a fight on our hands. As for the other group make sure they get free as I am not sure what a fight will be like. You two make sure everyone stays out of the area and go warn the guards then make sure no one comes out, " Aiden says as he walks forward and seems to disappear as the group gets past him.

Aiden looks at the group and the system says (Well this was unexpected. There are 30 Rank E wolves lead by 9 Rank D wolf and one rank C wolf king. Evaluation: Easy but be aware survival will be dependent on your understanding of the your past selves.) Aiden looks at the group and smiles this is what he had been waiting for. He twists his wrists to reveal his wrist blades then to the naked eye he darts into the incoming wave and the first wolf seems to get picked up by throat and stabbed through the head cleaving it in half as the first wolf let's out it's death wail. At that point, the wolves stop and sense a predator among them and the suppression of their wills causes them to take a pause and that pause cost them dearly. Aiden had become a whirlwind of steel as his new armor was utilized to the maximum as the wolves gathered cuts and deep gashes. The strong scent of blood filled the air as the wolf pack was massacred and the surgical cuts left the lowly wolves dissected and left in pieces all over the battlefield. As Aiden approached the wolf generals and king the system gave him a strange notification. (Knowledge of the ancients has triggered a hidden effect called linguist. Establishing connection and translating the animal speech.)

Aiden then hears in his head, 'Where did this human get such strength my king? Is this human even one still? He seems to smell different and more resembles one of our ancestors. Are the Kurza bloodline resurrecting? Perhaps he can be reasoned with and help us with this new threat to the forest.'

Aiden takes a pause as the leaders stopped advancing. He looks around and his armor coated in the blood and parts of the dead. Aiden seems to look like a demon from hell as he wades through the bloody mud and torn earth towards the wolf leaders. He looks at them and says in what seems like gutteral growls and barks, " What do you propose wolf king?
