Done with the stat management, the two boys took a break as while Loann still had a good amount of stamina with his level ups and Title, Steven was quickly running low on stamina.
Deciding to go find a quiet and safe place to rest, the two boys headed towards the school's kitchen where they previously had devised their successful plan.
While walking towards it, Loann decided to try and use his system lottery tickets, not willing to waste anymore time as he was eagerly waiting for what it could contain.
Not quite sure what to expect, he touched the [+] button next to the lottery tickets, and as expected, he saw a notification appear.
"Would you like to use a lottery ticket?"
[yes] [no]
Incredibly excited, he quickly touched the [yes] button and another notification popped up, saying:
"Congratulations, you have won [10] inferior stamina potions."
As he finished reading it, he saw a dozen potions appear on the ground in front of him. A bit disappointed after getting only a few potions, he identified them to see their worth and quickly found out this wasn't such a bad reward after all:
"[Inferior stamina potion]: Restore 150 stamina upon consumption."
While this may seem like a bad reward, it was exactly what the two boys needed early on to get stronger as fast as possible, as it meant they wouldn't have to rest so often.
Explaining his findings to Steven, they decided to store the potions in a bag the blond boy found back in their classroom.
Deciding it wasn't worth to use one of them right now, they stuck to their plan of taking a rest in the school's kitchen and maybe eating something too while they were at it, as it was quite late already, 6.30 PM according to Loann's phone.
Not wanting to spend the night outside, they planned to find a place to sleep in near their original destination.
They safely made it to the kitchen without any problem, something that didn't sit quite well with the two considering there should have been at least a few dozen students at the school, and even considering the massacre that happened in their classroom, there should still be at least 2 classes worth of zombies roaming around.
Not willing to spend too much time thinking about something they couldn't explain anyway, the two went inside the kitchen and were disappointed to find the fridge area locked, meaning food was out of their reach.
Luckily, there was still some left-overs from lunch, so they still ate a nice albeit cold meal.
While Loann still had more than half of his stamina (It does not regenerate the same way as mana, you need to rest to get it back up), he still felt pretty tired mentally.
After all, he was just a normal, perhaps a bit more cold-blooded than his peers, but still quite average teenager.
While the system helped them by decreasing their fear sensation and calm their minds, it still was a harrowing journey for them both.
Deciding to go to sleep at 7 PM, Loann and Steven did a quick expedition to the toilets before deciding to use his last 2 lottery tickets and then go to sleep.
Excited to get more good stuff, the black-haired boy quickly pressed the [+] next to the tickets, and received the notification the next moment.
"Congratulations, you have won a low-tier dagger."
Once again, a dagger appeared in the floor in front of them, and the weapon seemed like a nasty one.
With a slight curve on the blade and a gleaming metal edge, the dagger looked as sharp if not sharped than a razor blade.
While it seemed like a good weapon, Loann gave out a wry smile as he muttered:
"What use is a dagger to a mage? Am I supposed to rush the enemy after I run out of mana?"
While he found the idea funny, he knew it wasn't a viable one for the time being. He had no prior experience wielding knives apart from his cooking lessons, and he doubted knowing how to cut an onion would help him kill zombies.
Still hopeful for the next draw, he pressed the [+], but nothing appeared this time, and Steven could see him looking at what he could only guess to be the notification with wide eyes and a gaping mouth
"What did you get?" Asked the blond haired boy, curious about what could make his best friend look like he had just won a million dollars.
"I, uh, won something incredible." Said Loann, his green eyes still glued to the notifications
"Congratulations, you have won a supreme-tier Ice affinity."
While the notification remained simple, the content was incredible.
Even with his close-to-nothing knowledge about the system, he could guess an ice affinity and a supreme one at that couldn't be anything ordinary.
Telling his friend about it, Steven reaction seemed even more exaggerated as he asked if he had received anything more after getting a new affinity
After Loann heard him, he stopped focusing solely on the notification and noticed there were several more that popped up in his field of vision, all about his new affinity.
"Due to your ice affinity, you are now eligible for a sub class.
Do you wish to continue?
[-] [+]
Not thinking too much about it, he pressed the [+] and could now see his new sub-class and its advantages:
-Sub class: Ice arch-mage (+3 in wisdom and Intelligence each level)
"Due to your ice affinity, you have received the following skills:
-Ice shard
-Cold aura (passive)
