You're running down the hall as the lights were flicking and what feels like a quake kept shaking the spaceship. The filled backpack on your back was helping you stay grounded as you continue to run towards one of the emergency escape pods. The spaceship was being attacked by an unknown spaceship that just started firing. Soon this ship will blow into millions if you don't get out of here.
You had to take whatever your backpack had room for and you know the rest of the crew is doing the same thing. Each escape pod can fit four but you're the only one whose room was in the west wing of the ship.
You finally make it to the escape pod and enter. Immediately going for the control panel, you sit down, and without thinking, thinking that the ship will blow up any minute, you slam your hand down on the big red button. The chair instantly straps you in before thrusting itself out of the spaceship and into space at full speed.
The escape pod continues at full speed as you turn your head around to see through the small window on the door. The ship... is now destroyed... your home.... everything... your friends and co-workers... you hope with all your heart that they all made it into escape pods. You're still in shock... until you finally shed a few uncontrollable tears. As you begin to sob, you lay your arms over the panel and lower your head to rest on your arms.
Y/n: My home... I-It's gone...
Computer: We are now slowing down to normal speed of 200mph.
You heard but didn't care right now as you continue to cry. You hope everyone got out and their safe.
It takes several minutes for you to finally start to take deep breaths to calm down. You know you have to set the direction for the closest Free Lancer Station. You cough as you gently wipe your tears away before finally looking up seeing the empty space.
Y/n: (Cough) Computer, set to the closet Free Lancer Station.
Computer: Unfortunately the nearest station is approximately 10,000 miles. The pod's fuel has about 14/18 gallons.
Y/n: Are you kidding me?
Computer: No.
Y/n: Oh God... (Sighs) Is there any official station nearby? On a planet or independent island? Something close?
Computer: Loading request... Yes, there are two official stations located at a nearby planet approximately 3,000 miles.
Y/n: That's fine, set course for those.
Computer: Now in course, you are now free to roam around the pod and I will let you know when you need to be seated.
The seatbelts loosen and you remove them as you get up. You kneel down to the left side of the pod and open one of the cabinets since there should be some emergency food and water.
Y/n: (Sighs) Let's see here... MREs, chips, crackers, some water, fruit gummies, ummm...
You take a couple snacks and a water bottle before sitting back down. Of course you're still down about the whole situation and you'll have to wait to get to either of those stations in order to get in contact with a Free Lancer Station where everyone should be at. This whole thing is just... fucking crazy... like why the hell would anyone attack a Free Lancer Ship? What the hell is there to benefit from that? Fucking nothing...
Y/n: Computer, how long until we reach the planet?
Computer: It will take almost five hours.
Y/n: Five hours? Can you set the speed to 400mph?
Computer: Yes, but you'll need to be seated and fasten your seat straps.
You strap yourself in.
Y/n: Done. Set the speed to 400mph please.
Computer: Now setting speed to 400mph. We will be reaching the planet in one hour.
Y/n: That's better.
Now all you have to do now is wait. Wait until you get there and then contect the Free Lancer Station.
