"So … cute," the man said slowly, hoping the girl isn't hearing that.
Despite her unkempt and filthy appearance, the girl with thin cheeks and thin lips in front of him is quite attractive.
"Enough for today's side dish," the girl concluded, confident that her hunting would yield a fresh deer for dinner with her father later. The girl walked past the man, who continued to stare at her intently.
"Hey!" the man exclaims.
The girl turned around and wore a serious expression. "Who you are? I've never met anyone as weird as you!"
"Am I weird?" repeated the man, surprised.
"What do you think? Where would you can find someone wearing such a thick black robe and a face covering?" the girl throws sarcastic jokes. "Are you a thief? It's better to avoid stealing in the Lavender Forest area. All the citizens are poor! We don't even have 1 ST!"
The ST is the currency unit money used in the kingdom of Chze. ST means Super Trade.
The man pursed his lips even though he knew the girl wouldn't be able to see his face. He guffawed a little unconsciously. "I happened to be passing through this area."
"Oh, I see. So you're a traveler man, huh?" said the girl finally, nodding. Then the girl raised her hand. "Then, let me know you more! My name is Liliya Bayye, only a poor commoner in this Lavender village."
[If I had said that my name was Lavern, she would have known I was the vampire crown prince. Hm, I guess I'll have to disguise myself!] Lavern thoughts.
"My name is Vernon," Lavern said, briefly holding Liliya's hand for a moment. Liliya's heart fluttered a little as a result of their touch. Lavern's hands felt very cold. Is this man suffering from some sort of illness?
"So, Vernon, what are you looking for here?"
"No, there isn't any urgent certainly. All I wanted to do was take a look around. Just that. Nothing serious!" Lavern then turned to look at Liliya, who had a near-perfect visual. It would be a disgrace to keep her as a poor commoner for the rest of her life. "I heard the news, and if I'm not mistaken, there will be a vampire bride selection tomorrow, right? Are you not willing to do that?"
"You're right, tomorrow there will be a vampire bride selection," Liliya continued after a tired sigh. "But I'm not interested in that. I hate … vampires," said Liliya with bold eyes. The girl was reminded of the tragic event that had befallen her grandfather and her entire family.
If Liliya, who hatred vampires, married one of them, it would be like swallowing her own saliva.
"Why do you hate vampires?"
Liliya took a deep breath and lightly touched the tip of her knuckle. "Vampires killed my entire family, they took away all my happiness! They're vile and bloodthirsty! What will we expect from them? A good and nice vampire? Huft! It's only on our imagination!"
In the next second, Liliya realized that she had talked too much with Lavern, even though there's the fact that they had only just met.
"Did you know, Liliya … that I'm a vampire?"
Deg!
Liliya's heart is beating fast now, and the events of the past resurfaced in her mind. Her knees couldn't support her weight and she fell to the ground as cold sweat dripped down her temples.
Liliya dared to hunt any animal because she had practiced her knife and sword fighting skills. But to face a vampire on her hand? The girl lacked all courage, and her trauma was becoming increasingly severe.
How could a newcomer who had just entered her territory is a vampire? Liliya openly declares her hatred for vampires! There was no one when the girl's eyes wandered around.
Oh, God! There would be no eyewitnesses if she was murdered and her blood sucked out in such a remote location as this forest.
Lavern still wanted to disguise himself at first because he didn't want to be discovered as a vampire.
However, knowing that Liliya hated vampires so much… it was quite fun to prank and scare her. Without doubting, Lavern's hand immediately moved.
Lavern took off his mask and revealed his pale skin beneath. His thin lips smirked thoughtfully. His pale hand moved slowly towards Liliya's head, but Liliya threw his hand away.
"Don't ... don't come near on me!" screamed Liliya, gasping for air. Her voice trembled. "Please don't kill me! Please!"
"Hahahaha!" Lavern erupted in laughter. Liliya was terrified and amazed by his fiery red eyes. Vampire eyes... turned out to be so beautiful? "I'm not going to kill you, humans and vampires have reconciled. You know that!"
"Then? What do you want to do?" Liliya yelled, trying to maintain her distance. Even though Lavern had said that, Liliya was terrified to death. "Don't you dare to touch me!"
"Then I'll marry you," Lavern said with a sneer. "I chose you to be my bride."
"Whoa ... What? So you're the crown prince of the vampires?" Liliya is shocked.
"Yes, I'm Prince Lavern. I just want to know what would you do if lived with a vampire for the rest of your life!"
With a shake of her head, Liliya expressed her disbelief. She made a series of shaky motions with her head. "No! Please not me! Chose anyone! Didn't you know how much my trauma with a vampire was? You are a jerk man!"
The girl then leaped to her feet and bolted, leaving Vernon, a.k.a. Prince Lavern, standing there with a crooked grin. He can't wait to imagine what will tomorrow happen.
The prince can even choose who will be his life companion before the selection begins. Vampire brides must be appealing.
Every girl wants to be a vampire bride and would give their entire body for free to satisfy the prince's nutritional needs, but Liliya was different.
She hated vampires. Isn't it will be interesting if Prince Lavern could turn her hatred into love?
The love between humans and vampires?
It sounds interesting!
"I'm a jerk vampire, you right babe," Lavern said even he know that Liliya was gone and can't hear his baritone voice. "Liliya … Bayye. How beautiful her name like her face!"
