Alanna entered the store, huffing. Lizzie, who was looking dreamy, saw this and was worried.
"Wow, what happened?"
"That son of a bitch!" Alanna complained as she got closer to Lizzie and looked around earlier to make sure she didn't have any customers around.
"The man who wanted to talk to you?"
"Yes!"
"What did he do or say?"
"Aside from basically calling me a whore?" Alanna asked. Lizzie squinted.
"Well, I'm going to give him a beating!"
"No! Never mind... it's not worth it. He's too powerful and he might end up doing something against you. He threatened me, at least…" Alanna replied, annoyed.
"It's up to you. But I am not afraid." Lizzie said, proudly. Alanna recalled that she overheard Faolán commenting that Dante's daughter was a girl full of attitude. She smiled, inwardly.
Alanna went back to work and waited anxiously for the clock to indicate that it was time for her to go home.
