Entering the cabinet I locked all the connectors and closed my eyes and said "Link start."
My vision was once again flooded with different colors on a spiral-patterned path and before I could see more of it I found myself inside an ancient cave-like ruin, like those you usually see in movies.
Before I know it a word just slipped passed my lips even without my permission.
"Wooow!!"
The scene before me was mesmerizing, the amount of detail in this scenario was totally off the charts. The lighting, the morals, the sculptures the altar every single one of them is so detailed as if they were cut out of reality.
Just how much time and resources they must have spent on designing these just to play games, Just imagining the astronomical amount they must have spent on this stupid game makes my heart aches.
It seems like it doesn't matter which world you live it's all the same and the only people who suffer in any world are the poor.
Just look at the amenity and elements of this shit.
While people like my mother are out there suffering and struggling to even feed themselves 3 meals a day, These rich people out here are spending shit loads of money on playing a fucking game.
Is this shit worth more than a person's life,
Do people's lives matter less than fucking game to them !!
[Author: Hey, don't you dare insult games!!!
It may look worthless to you, but it's the very essence of our lives and the meaning of our very existence. Games are like God's grace to us gamers.
So don't you dare insult games, bitch.]
[Isaac: .... ]
Leaving my depression aside,
I once again looked around the place before me, it was so great it looked exactly like a portrayal of an ancient cave-like temple ruin stuff born out of the novels like Indiana Jones novels.
Now Don't ask me how I know the old classic like Indiana Jones and stuff.
Isn't it obvious?
Due to my poor situation, I wasn't able to read many novels, or movies or enjoy those lasted fun stuff, And my only source of entertainment was the second bookstore in the slum I worked part-time.
Well, I wasn't even able to see its movie but the grandpa at the library told me it looked even cool in the movie.
Though I was so impressed by the ancient ruins and wanted to check out everything in person suddenly a notification screen appeared before me to remind me that I didn't have such liberty.
The screen showed the map of the ancient ruins and provide me with a function to place all traps and obstacles on the map which may alter the ruins.
I was provided with a total of 2000 credits to change the map according to my wish and the traps were available in a shop with their value and description next to them.
They even had short demo videos that are attached to them to illustrate how they work, the panel looked more like an online shopping site.
{
•Bear trap: 50 points.
•Poison Needles: 10 points (each).
•Poison arrows: 15 points (each).
•Pit fall Trap: 200 points.
• Snake pit: 250 points.
•Boulder bowling alley: 600 points.
•Cross bow range: 700 points.
•Flame throwers: 800 points.
•Poison : (500 - ????)
•Weapon : (100 - ????)
• Dungeon monsters :(1000-????)
.....
Illusion hall: 10000 points.
.....
Self-destruction: 25000 points.
....
Golem (guardian):50000 points.
.....}
A versatile shopping site indeed, it had all various types of things that a person need to murder someone.
It was like a site with a motto,
'Anything that could kill a person you name it, we got it'.
The shopping site seems to be the Guardian's specialty, it has basically everything that a person needs to build a dungeon.
If someone has the right amount of points he could even build an impenetrable fortress. While it is a possibility but I don't think anyone will be able to have that absurd amount of points.
Who knows maybe someone might actually have it but unfortunately I am not him. So I have to settle with the point that is allotted to me,
*sigh*
'Cheap bastards, rendering me such a minimal sum,
*deep breathe*
Alright, let's stop whining about things that are out of reach and start preparing for what's in hand.'
****
Within a few minutes after entering the game Isaac started preparing the dungeon for welcoming its upcoming Guest.
A first when the people who were spectating the game from outside saw Isaac's choice of traps and their positions they couldn't figure out what was he trying to do.
The process looked bizarre cause the dude was just going around digging some places, breaking traps to only for them to be reassembled or combined.
Some even started calling out loud his choices as dumb, foolish, etc.
The dude even started making his hand-made traps that looked so obvious and noticeable that even the most dumbest beast wouldn't fall for them.
But the experts in the lab kept their calm and continued to spectate in silence without explaining anything because they know soon when all traps are in place the now ridiculous & absurd-looking sequence of traps will reveal their true colors.
They may have seen many Treasure hunt games in their life but this one had its own uniqueness that they have near caught a glimpse of.
And when they saw how he hide the Treasure that he was supposed to protect, the people on the outside started sweating bullets.
The treasure he was to protect was a golden cross-like relic with a big gem embedded which was a little out of proportion to its structure in its center.
And thus even before the stipulated time was over Isaac finished setting up all his traps and started waiting for the prey to come.
Just like Isaac who had done his part and was waiting for the arrival of his prey, his 'prey' Clark was also getting used to the new limitations that were imposed on him.
The limitation that was imposed on him this time was even higher than it was in the last match.
Because according to the rules in the agreement the instructor was supposed to have the same status as the participants and since the last match was 1 vs 10 he had the average status among them.
But that was way higher than Isaac because unlike them he had no means to utilize mana so his status basically was the lowest level possible for a person could have.
And so Clark most of his time before being summoned, to a virtual space trying to get used to the new status.
"Damn how did that bastard use a shitty status and a fucked up body to defeat the clone?"
If it was him even fighting the clone would have been a ridiculous task much less defeating it with a body like this.
Clark really was stunned after receiving the same status as Isaac because even the weakest-level person in existence in this world would have a better status than this.
How can someone like Isaac even be considered to be an Otherworlder? shouldn't otherworlders have crazy high status and overpowered skills and stuff like that?
But what amused Clark was that even with all these limitations the Little shit was able to overpower and win against the clone.
And thus Clark decided to least consider Isaac as something more than a bug that he could squash at any moment.
And with both parties having gotten in position, the time slowly ticked off to zero and thus Special Event Treasure Hunt officially began.
