I had finished charging up my mana, so I gave Folarin a quick nod, and she shot a bright ray of light to warn the others of the incoming attacks. Diego used his magic to put back Marcello's head in its place and, along with Forren, quickly dragged the other teammates out of the way.
I then shot my fastest fireball spell, so fast it almost launched me backwards. I was not expecting that kind of recoil, but it was fine. I suffered no damage because I enhanced my body with mana to its upper limit.
Because of this, my body was unable to move in a conventional way; I had to use the mana trapped within my muscles to move around. It was a weird feeling that of puppeteering my own body; there was something I needed to test out; if that idea worked, then I had found the perfect way to counter the inherent advantage that those better ki warriors have against me.
