After I let go of both weapons, I blocked one of the spikes aimed at my chest. Since the creature seemed particularly fearful of the sword, I made the arm holding it swing it as much as possible; I didn't need to actually land a blow; just distract the creature.
I ordered the arm to make a couple of swings alternating between the axe and the sword in order to have enough time to deal with the rest of its limbs. I was mostly watching out for the spikes. Sudden twirls could shift their position, making the attacks incredibly hard to read.
