There were plenty of things Kusari had left out while trying to rush us into starting a game; thankfully, Gale and Valis were able to stop him in time and ask the important questions. Thanks to that, we learned about many mechanics that were unavailable to us at first.

The first mechanic being that many units had special traits or abilities that could influence the state of a tile, infantry soldiers, for example, the speed at which new units can be produced, and when placed on a training camp, they can be promoted to any kind of unit at half the cost of the new unit; moreover, they can set up some rudimentary traps and reinforcements without the need of a specialized unit.

The sheer number of units was staggering, and that brought us to the next topic: there were variants of the same unit, which raised some questions: why were those variants there?
