We walked for a bunch of days. Valis then carried us during the day, and Folarin would make turns with Valis during the night in order to keep marching. During any spare time, we would carry the two of them on our backs. We didn't spare any effort in this march; we needed to reach our destination as quickly as possible, as the cost of food was starting to get annoying.
Past the green lands was an arid terrain; it had no rivers and no pool of water in sight yet. In that kind of environment, vegetation seemed to still be able to thrive; tall and thin grass grew there. As for the animals living there, there were mostly parasites, insects, and creatures on the smaller side. No visible beasts were present.
