There I stood in silence, in some dark, infinite space within my brain, while my brain was constantly being fried by that malefic seed. I was now only mildly aware of it. I was still feeling odd, so I kept my figurative eyes closed.

I was nothing; around me, there was nothing; everything was fake.

"Damien?" The sweet, familiar voice of a woman called out for my name in the distance. It brought back fake memories of an unfamiliar city, a classroom, and a completely different environment from the one I grew up in.

The little I remember of my family was that I was the son of a farmer; we lived not far from a city, and my father owned a small shop where he sold part of his crops. My mother was a lawyer; she met my father after quitting her job, and she has lived as a housewife ever since, but for some reason I can't remember their faces.

"Who are you? Why do you know my name?" I asked without opening my eyes.
