POV Gale
"So this is essentially heaven, by how you described it." I quickly resumed all he said in one sentence.
"It's different; it's a lot more complicated than that! There is no heaven, and there is no hell; there is just obliteration. Once you die, your soul becomes the property of the god of death, and he'll use it to create new souls. Our soul is the property of the gods that split from the god of conflict, which means the god of hunt, war, and combat."
"Yeah, I'm familiar with the concept of reincarnation, and don't these gods do the same?" I asked him.
"No, it's kind of different; these gods allow us to keep our souls intact during the process of reincarnation so that when we die again, we'll be able to get back here with all our previous memories. Normally, your soul would get crushed and destroyed, and then your fragments would be fused with other soul fragments to become part of the god of death's army." He explained.
