As far as I know, we still haven't figured out the reason for or how our powers came to be; we only know that we were born with them. As far as we know, these have been our powers since the Stone Age; it was the way our ancestors adapted to the harsh environment and the giant creatures that once lived on our planet. Yet a sudden change brought all of those creatures to extinction, and our power was weakened. I loved these heroic tales my mother would tell me as a bedtime story, but I never imagined they held some truth until they discovered some fossils from that era. They were so big that no one seemed to understand how it was even possible for them to stand up or even move, or what kind of metabolism a creature of those dimensions should have, but that book on magical creatures suddenly found the explanation.
