Captain Dharma snorted loudly at the sound of the scream. The sound of shouts from Ryan, who seemed to be slightly replying to the captain's words all this time.
"Damn it!" said Captain Dharma as his hand moved to activate the other supporting machines.
"Muzzle shield, active!" Pical exclaimed. "Airframe shield, active!"
Hyker controlled the control lever in his hand, bringing the spacecraft into a turn in the opposite direction from Earth itself.
The SC45 aircraft is moving at moderate speed leaving Earth farther away, darting among the other spacecraft in the darkness of the vast expanse of outer space.
Then…
One huge explosion boomed, startling everyone, a big bang that created a flash of bright white light.
Various hues of light appeared and formed two giant rings that circled the Earth. Two massive rings rotate across each other, getting bigger and refracted, reaching a very far radius.
And there was one more explosion. This time, it was much louder and heavier. A wave of energy with a silvery-white appearance and refracted.
From a distance, people watched the burst of energy waves from the breaking of Earth's magnetic field like a baby just learning to crawl, moving very slowly.
However, for those who are well versed in knowing, it is quite the opposite. The huge energy wave from the Earth's explosion was moving very, very fast.
Amidst the cacophony and traffic of many spaceships drifting away from Earth's rotational position—some deliberately propelling their spacecraft at high speed, others accelerating at moderate speed while keeping an eye on the condition of the planet itself—Hyker focused on himself to carry the speed of the SC45 aircraft so that the cargo plane does not crash or be hit by other planes.
The huge energy wave that was even visible in its form refracted from the point of the Earth, spreading out in all directions.
Unfortunately, some spacecraft were too late to avoid being hit by the energy wave. Likewise, the planes that move slowly seem to ignore the danger.
Explosion after the explosion occurred at several points. Explosions from space planes that were supposed to save the lives of their passengers have become a place of death for those who do not escape the waves of energy.
The electromagnetic waves that also brought with it the heatwave from the Earth's explosion itself destroyed everything that had been there. At that point, the point on the third planet after the sun, now leaving only the fiery red hue of the planet itself burning. Also, the bluish-white light sometimes dazzles the eyes, the reaction of the electromagnetic waves that are still happening and refracts in all directions.
No words could come out of the mouths of all those who witnessed it. A stunning gaze filled with sadness and fear. In a deep void because they don't know anymore after this on which planet they will continue their life.
Oryza and Quinn both sobbed, tears rolling down their cheeks. Pical was speechless, Captain Dharma even got goosebumps watching the destruction of Earth which at the same time destroyed life within. Hyker only occasionally glanced left—towards Earth—because he had to be extra careful with the SC45 in his control.
Likewise for the passengers in the main cabin. Xian hugged Yuan Xi tighter, even Yuan Xi herself shivered endlessly to witness the death of the planet formerly known as the Blue Planet happening right before her eyes.
Doctor Kamal and his wife hug their two children, Luka and Miska. While Ely hid her face in Aldi's arms. Aldi was the same, his lips trembled without a word he could say for the sake of witnessing the enormous disaster created by Mother Earth itself.
"It's over…" Cinnong mumbled with teary eyes. "As a result of the actions of mankind, abolishing the former. The land of birth… is now nothing more than an unmarked grave," she lowered her head, unable to speak anymore because the tightness in her chest had shaken the emotion within her.
Ryan stared unblinkingly at the large screen in front. Like everyone else in the room, he was the same, sad and speechless. And what Cinnong said was right, he thought, this was Mother Earth's punishment for the human race who had exploited Earth with greed that surpassed the devil.
And now, all that will remain is a memory. Memories that are too painful to even remember.
Once they are in a safe zone, far enough from the outermost zone of Earth's orbit that now looks dead. Hyker stopped the SC45 plane. He turned again to the left. He left the driver's seat, approached the flight deck windshield, staring unblinkingly at the dead Earth ball with all the pain in his chest.
His two hands rested on the table where the flight panels and devices were embedded. Hyker sighed very heavily.
"This is the end of the greed of humankind," Hyker said weakly, however, everyone in the cockpit heard and agreed with his words.
His gaze shifted to the other spaceships on the same side. Ships dominated by Federation minions. Then, at the other end—slightly to the right, Hyker saw the form of a super-large ship among the others, a ship more worthy of being called a gigantic station where dignitaries and nobles enjoyed the luxury of their lives, the State of Federation.
Again Hyker sighed heavily and deeply, no one know what he was thinking at the moment about the Federation's main station. What is clear is not something pleasant. He averted his gaze again, looking for something among the large planes passing outside.
"Are we going to find the planet we can stand on?" Oryza said half inaudibly. The girl's voice sounded a little nasal, hoarse from crying.
"Who can say for sure?" Hyker said without turning. "Amid the darkness of the universe like this, no one will be able to answer your question."
"Unless you can access the SOF master computer," said Captain Dharma.
All eyes are now on the captain. However, Captain Dharma has been thinking about this for a long time. For some reason, the captain firmly believed that the higher-ups of the Federation must have found a new planet or two that could support human life. Maybe they were just waiting for the right moment before leaving for the planet, or maybe there was another reason.
What is clear, Captain Dharma is quite sure about it.
"You think they've found a planet that could support life, Cap?"
Captain Dharma turned to Quinn, then nodded. "At least," he said, "that's what I've been thinking all along."
