The ray of black light struck the rank 4 lizard man, taking everyone by surprise. Especially Yule.
*Chomp*
The light eventually revealed a man who had most pf his muscles burnt beyond recognition. Wearing black robes with his left hand morphed into a large monstrous mouth, eating the severed head of the lizard man.
'Eww, bitter.' Tirus internally complained, looking at the true soul sealed in his dark sword and his rapidly healing muscles.
'Let me out!!' The true soul of the rank 4 Lizard man screamed.
'No need to be impatient, I'll devour you as well, but later.' He sent this transmission with a smile on his face.
'How can this be?' It was the only thought in everyone's mind.
Even though they knew that Tirus himself was a rank 4 magus and were also aware of the fact that the rank 4 lizard man had lowered his guard a bit, but that still wasn't enough for them to believe that a rank 4 magus could one-hit-kill another one at the same rank, let alone a magus who could push Yule, the shadow union's leader to his limits.
"Look behind!" Yule shouted as he widened his eyes.
"Die." Another rank 4 magus attacked Tirus from behind. This magus had only one eye and four arms, and had currently donned a war armor.
"I don't have time for this." Tirus murmured as he dodged the attack effortlessly.
"What? Are you too scared to fight me?" The one-eyed magus mocked Tirus in order to provoke him.
"..."
Tirus didn't reply for a second, and then said, "It seems that you're somewhat confused. I'm not here for a fight, I'm here for a kill."
Four tentacles grew out of his back as their tips transformed into massive mouths with razor sharp teeth, the view of which sent shivers down the one eyed magus's spine.
'The hell!' The one-eyed magus screamed internally as he tried to run away as soon as he sensed danger. However, it was too late.
*Chomp*
"Disgusting...seriously, the lizard men and the other non-human inhabitants of this world have one thing in common, that being their abhorrent taste." Tirus murmured with an expression of disgust.
If not for the fact that devouring the flesh of his enemies could heal his burns, he wouldn't even think about devouring more of these guys.
To be honest, he didn't mind devouring humans at all. This line of thought was simply not normal, however, Tirus wasn't bothered by it in the least.
'If pursuing the road of eternity without restrictions requires me to become a monster, I will gladly forsake my humanity.' Was his only principle.
"Hm...Yule, you are a capable leader, that even I acknowledge and so, it only makes sense if you sacrifice a little." Tirus said in a low voice before teleporting behind Yule.
This sentence uttered by Tirus caused every other magi in the vicinity to internally thing only one thing, 'This monster...he isn't here to save anyone, he's only here to eat?'
*Chomp*
Yule didn't even have time to react before he had his physical body devoured by Tirus.
Tirus then suddenly appeared high above in the air, and then four scarlet tentacles grew out of his back.
"This...is the day you die." Tirus said as he pointed his finger at the one eyed magus. Tens of thousands of black fireballs manifested themselves in the air around the other magi who had come with the one-eyed magus and started attacking them with his dark sword, severing the heads of the magi who were on the brink of death, capturing their souls.
'It should be time.' Tirus secretly thought. He didn't plan on saving anyone here. His plan was to leave this world as soon as possible and so, he was just buying time while his A.I. chip scanned the entire base and pinpointed the interplanar teleportation formation.
*Zu*
Tirus teleported behind the another magus when he was distracted and pierced his body with his four tentacles. The blood flowed like a fountain. The magus tried destroying his body, but his actions were suppressed by Tirus.
But suddenly, something unexpected happened.
*Boom*
"I shall personally wipe out the name of this organization from the surface of this world." An enemy magus had his body burnt as a massive giant made entirely of fire materialized itself. The heat that this giant emitted felt unbearable even to Tirus.
The magus had his body used as a vessel. And for someone to be able to do this, they must have touched upon the power of laws.
"... Blazing Flame Monarch?" Tirus murmured in shock but then thought, 'No, this isn't the main body, but still.' He turned into a ray of black light and fled as fast as he could.
The A.I. chip had already found out the location of the teleportation formation, and so, there was no need for him to endanger his life anymore.
Tirus entered the interplanar facility, which was heavily guarded.
Soon, he saw the formation in front of him.
"You can't escape!" The flame giant said it burned everyone outside the facility and started making its way inside.
"I have to do this faster!" Tirus murmured as he hurriedly started the formation. A bright light enveloped him as dizziness assaulted him.
….
The magus world,
Central Continent, Jupiter's lightning,
The interplanar research facility,
"Emergency, Emergency, the formation is showing signs of malfunction."
"Call the leader."
The voices of countless magi could be heard as the interplanar formation activated on its own.
In the next moment, Zegna appeared in front of it.
"Don't worry, the situation is now under control." He said as he unleashed a spell and gray light covered the formation. As the formation stabilized, it started emitting a bright light and took on the shape of a human.
"Sou...Soul collector?" Zegna felt surprise for the first time in his long life, but soon calmed down, 'Something must have happened.' He reached this conclusion as there was no other explanation for Tirus's sudden arrival.
...
Tirus returned to the magus world and told Zegna about the attack on Shadow Union and how he had to flee in order to save his life, after which Zegna gave him recuperation of all the trouble he went through and even told him to stay in Twilight Zone and recover, to which Tirus agreed and set off.
Once he returned to the Twilight Zone, he was personally welcomed by Beth.
Now, In the throne room,
"So you got another inheritance? And this time a warlock inheritance?" Beth exclaimed in surprise.
"Yes." Tirus could only reply expressionlessly to this.
Beth didn't know what to say, this master of hers was really quite lucky.
"So, what now?" Beth asked while getting closer to him.
"Hm, first, even though I got the bloodline, I still need to revitalize it. After that, I'll you what to do."
"And what about that organization from the surface world?" Beth asked in confusion.
"I don't need them anymore."
To be continued...
