On the surface of the semi-plane,
In the desert region, Mar was flying in the air with a frown on his face.
'Still no clue.' One by one, all of his clones had returned to him, but none were able to get a single clue about anything even slightly resembling a formation. However, it was evident that they were destroyed by those fleshly root like tentacles.
"Damn it." He gritted his teeth in indignation. His clones, although appeared to be ordinary, had exceptional intel gathering skills. Them not being able to find anything left with nothing but anger towards that accursed magi who set this death trap of an inheritance.
Just as he was about to reach out the magi of the dark dawn guild, he saw hundreds of fleshly roots coming towards him, surrounding him.
'What is the worst that could happen now...we are going to die anyways.' He thought as despair filled his mind. He bit his thumb and let the blood flow freely as he started chanting.
The blood turned into a scarlet crystal and fell on the ground, in a few seconds, cracks started to appear on it.
*Crack*
The crystal broke and hundreds of dawrf-like being came out of it, although they were much, much shorter than Mar himself, but they all exuded the aura of rank 1 and some were even above rank 1.
But, no matter how many of them there were, unless they used the same spell as Tirus used to destroy these tentacles, they would simply regenerate again and again.
The fleshy roots evaded most of the attacks, and some even started devouring the rank 1 beings ferociously after developing mouths with extremely sharp teeth.
…
Above the ocean,
"They're never ending…where is leader?" A magi levitating besides Kane asked in a slightly shaky voice, although he was a rank 2 magi, in front of this unending nightmare, he couldn't help but lose his composure slightly.
…
The underground,
The egg inside the formation had become the core of Tirus's consciousness.
'Hm…once I kill all these magi, I will kill every single living being on this semi-plane if possible.' The thought of committing such a large-scale massacre didn't even make Tirus flinch, such indifference was cultivated painstakingly by him during all those years in the Twilight Zone.
Tirus controlled the fleshly roots to kill every magus he could, but since he had just obtained this new form of his, he had some trouble controlling his tentacles. And so, he controlled a group of them to attack one magus at a time.
After killing each magus, he would form a mouth shaped organ with sharp teeth and devour the corpse along with the soul, all this spiritual energy and the soul energy of his victims was stored within the egg.
Soon after he started killing the magi, he found out that the spiritual force and soul energy accumulated by Plaguemancer wasn't lost, but was, however, stored inside these tentacles.
Tirus felt that he couldn't absorb this spiritual force stored inside the tentacles, at least, at the moment, this made him a little suspicious, but after using the A.I. chip for a check, it turned out that plaguemancer's soul had been thoroughly destroyed. So, he didn't need to fear.
The energy inside the tentacles would be used by these tentacles to regenerate themselves, which meant that one could destroy these tentacles if they exhausted all of its stored energy.
But that would be quite unrealistic since the energy required by the tentacles for regeneration was too miniscule, and it could easily be restored by devouring one or two low grade magical beasts, which this secret plane had an abundance of.
…
Energy inside the egg kept increasing in quantity and quality the more he killed, and after a few days,
All the magi from the guild as well as Mar had exhausted all of their spiritual force fighting the tentacles, hoping to survive but now, they knew that their deaths were inevitable.
Countless fleshly roots grouped together and formed a giant bloody dragon in the air as it roared through the skies.
'Oh well, It's still better than dying quietly in seclusion, at least I tried to improve my cultivation, though, I wonder where leader is?' Kane thought as he closed his eyes. His mind, which was filled with despair a moment ago, was now filled with extreme clarity as he saw his death so close to him.
It wasn't that it was his first time experiencing a life or death situation, but this time, the sense of hopelessness at the last moment gave him a peace of mind that he had never experienced.
At this moment, he felt everything become clear to him, every detail about his surroundings that he never noticed before.
'I would have loved to stay like this a little longer.' He was swallowed up by the bloody that had grown an unnaturally massive mouth before he could think any further.
…
Days passed like this, and Tirus had finally killed all the magi in this secret plane. After killing all the magi, he started killing the magical beasts one by one and increased his energy reserves. Although not a lot of them were left, but they were still enough.
Soon, the condensed energy inside the egg started turning golden and the tentacles stopped all movements.
To be continued…
